Գյումրիում հոկտեմբերի 2-ին կայանալիք եղական ինքնակառավարման մարմինների ընտրություններին «Բարգավաճ Հայաստան» կուսակցության համամասնական ցուցակը գլխավորող Վարդևան Գրիգորյանի որդու մահվան գործում քաղաքական միտում չկա, և դա կապված չէ տեղի ունեցող քաղաքական գործընթացների հետ: Այդ մասին «Եռաբլուր» պանթեոնում լրագրողների հետ զրույցում նշեց ՀՀ գլխավոր դատախազ Արթուր Դավթյանը:
«Շատ ակտիվ միջոցառումներ են իրականացվել և այս պահի դրությամբ հավաքված բավարար օբյեկտիվ տվյալները հիմք են տալիս խոսել ինքնասպանության մասին: Ձեռնարկված միջոցառումները, հատկապես Վարդևան Գրիգորյանի որդու շրջապատի հարցաքննությունները, թույլ են տալիս նաև հետևության հանգել, որ այդ դեպքը որևէ կերպ կապված չէ Գյումրիում քաղաքական գործընթացների հետ»,- «Արմենպրես»-ի փոխանմամբ` նշեց Դավթյանը:
Հարցին` Վարդևան Գրիգորդյանի որդու մահվան գործում քաղաքական միտում չի՞ տեսնում, Դավթյանն ասաց. «Ոչ, այս պահի դրությամբ այդպիսի տվյալներ չունենք: Հակառակը` դա հերքող տեղեկություն ունենք»:
Վարդևան Գրիգորյանի որդու՝ Արշակ Գրիգորյանի դին հայտնաբերվել էր իրենց տան նկուղում՝ գլխի շրջանում հրազենային վնասվածքով։ Հարուցվել է քրեական գործ` «ինքնասպանության հասցնելը» հոդվածով:
