Հայաստանի անկախության 25-րդ տարեդարձի օրը` առավոտյան ժամը 9:00-ին, Մոր և մանկան առողջության պահպանման գիտահետազոտական կենտրոնում ծնվել է ապրիլյան պատերազմի հերոս հետախույզ-գնդացրորդ Սասուն Մկրտչյանի քրոջ` Անիի որդին: Ինչպես փոխանցում է «Արմենպրես»-ը` վկայակոչելով ՀՀ առողջապահության ֆեյսբուքյան էջը, նորածնին անվանակոչել են հերոսի անվամբ:

Փոքրիկ Սասունը լույս աշխարհ է եկել 3 կգ 200 գ քաշով և 48 սմ հասակով: Պայմանագրային զինծառայող Սասուն Մկրտչյանը զոհվել է ապրիլի 2-ի լույս 3-ի գիշերը` հակառակորդին պատժիչ հարված հասցնելիս: Հերոս զինվորը ՀՀ նախագահի կողմից հետմահու պարգևատրվել է «Մարտական խաչ» 1-ին աստիճանի մեդալով: Ուշագրավ է, որ հենց այդ օրը` ապրիլի 2-ին են Մկրտչյաններն իմացել, որ որդի են ունենալու:

Սեպտեմնբերի 21-ին Հանրապետության հրապարակում Անկախության 25-րդ տարեդարձին նվիրված զորահանդեսի ժամանակ Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը հայտարարեց. «Ամիսներ առաջ հետախույզ գնդացրորդ Սասուն Մկրտչյանի շիրիմի առաջ մեր բոլորի անունից խոստացա, որ շարունակելու ենք Սասունի և նրա ընկերների սուրբ գործը, միշտ վառ ենք պահելու Արցախի և Հայաստանի նոր սերնդից ճառագող այն լույսը, որ ապրիլյան օրերին բոլորիս դարձրել էր միասնական, մեկ բռունցք` պատրաստ իջնելու մեր անվտանգությանը սպառնացող ոսոխի գլխին: Մենք մեր խոստումը պահելու ենք: Վկան` այս զորահանդեսն է
