«Ժամանակ» թերթը գրում է. «Թեեւ Գյումրիի քաղաքապետի թեկնածու Վարդեւան Գրիգորյանի որդու մահվանից հետո ընտրություններին մասնակից քաղաքական ուժերը դադարեցրել են քարոզարշավը, սակայն «Ժամանակ»–ին հասած տեղեկություններով ԲՀԿ-ն ցանկանում է մասնակցել Գյումրիի քաղաքապետի ընտրություններին։ Այս օրերին աշխատանքային այցով Չինաստանում գտնվող Նաիրա Զոհրաբյանը «Ժամանակ»–ի հետ զրույցում հաստատեց, որ ԲՀԿ-ն հակված է Վարդեւան Գրիգորյանի գլխավորած ավագանու ցուցակով մասնակցել հոկտեմբերի 2-ին կայանալիք ՏԻՄ ընտրություններին։
Եթե որդու՝ Արշակ Գրիգորյանի մահվան կապակցությամբ Վարդեւան Գրիգորյանը որոշի չմասնակցել այդ ընտրություններին՝ կուսակցությունն առհասարակ չի մասնակցի այդ ընտրություններին։ Նաիրա Զոհրաբյանը «ժամանակ»–ի հետ զրույցում ասաց, որ չի ցանկանում շտապել եւ Վարդեւան Գրիգորյանի փոխարեն որոշում կայացնել, այնուամենայնիվ, կարծում է, որ «հանուն իր որդու՝ Արշակի, Վարդեւան Գրիգորյանը պետք է շարունակի պայքարը Գյումրիի քաղաքապետի պաշտոնի համար։
Հիշեցնենք, որ այսօր տանում է հոկտեմբերի 2-ին կայանալիք ավագանու ընտրություններում ինքնաբացարկ ներկայացնելու համար վերջնաժամկետը»:
