Էկզեման տարածված է նորածին երեխաների մոտ և այն արտահայտվում է կարմիր, չոր, կոշտ և քոր առաջացնող մաշկով: Շատ ծնողներ փորձում են բոլոր հնարավոր միջոցները՝ իրենց երեխաների մոտ էնզեմայից առաջացած ցավը թեթևացնելու համար:

Գիտնականները վերջերս անցկացրած ուսումնասիրության շնորհիվ եկել են այն եզրակացության, որ հղիները վիտամին B-ի որոշ տեսակներ օգտագործելով կարող են կրճատել երեխայի մոտ էկզեմա զարգանալու ռիսկը:

Մսի, ձկան, սունկերի և ընկուզեղենի մեջ հանդիպող նիկոտինամիդը կարող է կանխել քոր առաջացնող մաշկ ունենալու վտանգը, ինչը ըստ մի ուսումնասիրության՝ առկա է մեկ տարեկան երեխաների 30%-ի մոտ:

Վիտամին B3-ը կարող է բարելավել մաշկի ընդհանուր կառուցվածքը, խոնավությունը և էլաստիկությունը: Հետազոտողները նաև գտել են տրիպտոֆան կոչվող ամինոթթուն, որը հանդիպում է շատ պրոտեինների մեջ և նույնպես նույն ազդեցությունն է ունենում մաշկի վրա:

Սաութհամփթոնի համալսարանի թիմը կարծում է, որ երեխայի մաշկի այդ խնդիրը մասամբ առաջանում է հենց արգանդի մեջ: Հենց այդ պատճառով էլ նրանք կարծում են, որ այս գաղափարին հետևելով նրանք կարող են նոր միջոցներ ձեռնարկել և ի սկզբանե կանխել մաշկային այդ խնդրի առաջացումը:

Հետազոտողներն ուսումնասիրել էին 497 կանանց մոտ վիտամին B-ի առկայությունը և նրանց երեխաների ծննդից 6 և 12 ամիս անց ուսումնասիրել են փոքրիկների մոտ էկզեմայի առկայությունը:

Պարզվեց, որ այն կանայք, ում մոտ բարձր էր նիկոտինամիդի մակարդակը, նրանց երեխաների մոտ 30%-ով ավելի քիչ էր 12 ամսականում էկզեմա ունենալու հավանականությունը:
