Մարդկային կյանքը շատ անկանխատեսելի է:
Չնայած այն բանին, որ ճակատագիրը մեր հանդեպ դաժան է գտնվում, մեր կյանքում ժամանակ առ ժամանակ հրաշքներ են տեղի ունենում:
Եվ այսօրվա մեր պատմությունը դրա վառ օրինակն է:
1987 թվականին ամերիկուհի Ջոյ Ուայթը իր երեք շաբաթական տենդի մեջ գտնվող աղջկան՝ Կառլինային, տարավ Նյու Յորքյան հիվանդանոցներից մեկը:
Հետո պատահաեց այն, ինչից վախենում են բոլոր մայրերը: Կառլինային տարան՝ անհրաժեշտ գործողություններն անցկացնելու համար, իսկ այդ ժամանակ հիվանդանոց մտավ մի կին՝ բուժքրոջ հագուստով, և առևանգեց փոքրիկին:
Աղջկան առևանգողը՝ Էնն Պետտին, սկզբում նրան տարավ Կոննեկտիկա, իսկ հետո Ջորջիա:
Չնայած այն բանին, որ պարգևատրում էին առաջարկել Կառլինայի համար, և հազարավոր հայտարարություններ էին փակցվել աղջկա լուսանկարով՝ Կառլինան կորած էր 23 տարի, և Ջոյն ու իր ամուսինը՝ Կառլը, կարող էին միայն աղոթել աղջկա վերադարձի համար:
Բայց մի հրաշալի օր նա վերադարձավ: Եվ նա ինքն էր բացահայտել իր առևանգումը:
16 տարեկանում աղջիկը (ում առևանգողն անվանել էր Նետտի) մտահոգվեց իր ծագման մասին, երբ հասկացավ, որ իր «հարազատնեից» ոչ մեկին նման չէ: Հենց այդ տարի աղջիկը հղիացավ, և ապագա երեխայի խնամակալությունը ձևակերպելու համար, նրան պետք եկավ սեփական ծննդյան վկայականը:
«Մայրը» հրաժարվեց այն տալ աղջկան: Կառլինան փորփրեց իրերը, և հայտնաբերեց մի փաստաթուղթ, որն ինչպես ինքն էր մտածում, իր ծննդյան վկայականն էր: Երբ նա տարավ այդ թուղթը գրանցման բաժին, պարզվեց, որ այն կեղծ է: Էննը խոստովանեց, որ ինքը չէ Կառլինայի կենսաբանական մայրը, բայց նաև ասաց, որ նրա իսկական մայրը թողել է նրան հիվանդանոցում և երբեք չի վերադառնա նրա հետևից:
7 տարի անց Կառլինան կորած երեխաների Ազգային կենտրոնի ինտերնետային կայքէջում գտավ իր նորածին ժամանակվա լուսանկարը և այն լուսանկարը, թե ինչ տեսք նա կարող էր ունենալ այժմ: Աղջիկը զանգահարեց Ջոյ Ուայթին և ոստիկանություն: ԴՆԹ – ի հետազոտությունից հետո պարզվեց, որ Ջոյը Կառլինայի իսկական մայրն է:
23 տարի սպասելուց հետո՝ մայր և աղջիկ հանդիպեցին: Էնն Պետտին մեղավոր ճանաչվեց երեխա առևանգելու մեջ, և ազատազրկվեց 12 տարով:
Երբեմն անելանելի իրավիճակներում մեզ մնում է միայն հուսալ և հավատալ: Եվ հաճախ այդ հավատը պարգևատրվում է: Ես շատ կցանկանայի, որ բոլոր կորած երեխաները գտնվեին՝ թկուզ շատ տարիներ անց:
