Դիտորդները նշում են, որ Հիլարի Քլինթոնը Դոնալդ Թրամփից ավելի վստահ տեսք ուներ ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահի երկու գլխավոր թեկնածուների առաջին բանավեճի ընթացքում, տեղեկացնում Է«Արմենպրես»-ը:

«Քլինթոնը գերակշռություն ուներ հենց ամենասկզբից: Նրան հաջողվեց այն, ինչ չհաջողվեց Հանրապետական կուսակցությունից Թրամփի հակառակորդներին. տեղի չտալ սադրանքին եւ հետեւողականորեն շարադրել փաստարկները»,- Twitter-ում գրել Է BBC-ի վաշինգտոնյան թղթակից Քիմ Գատասը:  

Նյու Յորքում բանավեճերի ընթացքում քննարկվել են լայն սպեկտրի թեմաներ. ոստիկանների ռասայական կանխակալությունից եւ հարկային համակարգի փոփոխումից մինչեւ կիբեռգրոհները Միացյալ Նահանգների հիմնարկությունների վրա, ծայրահեղականների դեմ պատերազմը, թեկնածուների անձնական արժանիքները եւ նրանց վերաբերունքը փոքրամասնությունների եւ կանանց նկատմամբ:

Բնավեճերի երկու մասնակիցներն Էլ հիշատակել են սկանդալային դրվագներ մրցակցի կենսագրությունից: Այսպես, Հիլարի Քլինթոնը Դոնալդ Թրամփին մեղադրել Է այն բանում, որ նա հանրությանը տեղյակ չի պահել իր հարկային հայտարարագրերի մասին, ինչին ի պատասխան Թրամփը խոստացել Է դա անել, երբ Քլինթոնը հրապարակի իր բոլոր իմեյլները, որոնք վերաբերում են այն ժամանակին, երբ նա գլխավորում Էր ԱՄՆ-ի Պետդեպարտամենտը:     

Ինչպես նշել են դիտորդները, Թրամփին չի հաջողվել առավելագույնս օգտագործել Քլինթոնի նամակների թեման: Նախկին պետքարտուղարը խոստովանել Է, որ սխալ Է կատարել՝ Թրամփին թույլ չտալով զարգացնել այդ թեման: «Ես սխալ եմ կատարել: […] Ես ընդունում եմ դրա պատասխանատվությունը»,- ասել Է նա:
