Հայ-ամերիկյան արշավախումբն այս տարի Գեղարոտի պեղումների ժամանակ ուշբրոնզեդարյան դամբարան եւ բնակատեղու մի փոքր հատված է պեղել: «Արմենպրես»-ի հետ զրույցում այս մասին ասաց Գեղարոտի արշավախմբի ղեկավա Ռուբեն Բադալյանը: Նրա խոսքով` Գեղարոտը վաղ բրոնզի եւ ուշ բրոնզի դարերի բազմաշերտ հուշարձան է եւ պատկանում է մթա 3-րդ եւ 2-րդ հազարամյակներին: «Այնտեղ երկար ժամանակ ապրել են մարդիկ»,-ասաց նա:

Համեմատելով նախորդ տարիների պեղումների հետ` արշավախմբի ղեկավարն այս տարի առանձնացրեց մի ուշագրավ փաստ, որը բացառիկ է թե Հայաստանում, եւ թե ամբողջ Քուր-Արաքսյան մշակույթում: «Նախորդ տարիներին մենք հիմնականում աշխատում էինք վաղ բրոնզեդարյան բնակատեղու պեղումների վրա, իսկ այս տարի մենք հանդիպեցինք մի պաշտամունքային կառույցի, որը շատ նախնական կերպով կարող ենք կապել հանգուցյալների ծեսի հետ: Այդ եզրակացությանն ենք եկել, որովհետեւ համալիրն ընդգրկում էր նաեւ մի քանի վաղ բրոնզեդարյան թաղում»,-հավելեց Բադալյանը:

Գեղարոտի հնավայրում հայ-ամերիկյան արշավախումբը պեղումներ իրականացնում է դեռ 1998 թվականից: Քանի որ պեղավայրը գտնվում է Փամբակի հարավային լանջերին ` 2000 մետր բարձրության վրա, պեղումներ այնտեղ իրականացվում են հիմնականում ամռան ամիսներին: Այս տարի Գեղարոտի պեղումները սկսվել են հունիսի կեսերին եւ շարունակվել մինչեւ օգոստոս: Հայ-ամերիկյան արշավախմբի կողմից պեղումներ իրականացվում են նաեւ Ծաղկահովիտի դաշտում եւ Ապարանի գոգավորությունում: Ապարան քաղաքի տարածքում արշավախումբը մեկ այլ բրոնզեդարյան բնակատեղի է հայտնաբերել: Հայ-ամերիկյան համատեղ պեղումներն իրականացվում են «Արագած» ծրագրի շրջանակներում:
