Աշխարհում 385 մլն երեխաներ ծայրահեղ աղքատության պայմաններում են ապրում

Շուրջ 385 մլն երեխա ամբողջ աշխարհում ապրում է ծայրահեղ աղքատության պայմաններում: Այս մասին ասված է ՄԱԿ-ի Մանկական հիմնադրամի (ՅՈՒՆԻՍԵՖ) նոր զեկույցում: Ըստ հեղինակների՝ առավել ծանր դրության մեջ են Սահարայից դեպի հարավ ընկած Աֆրիկայի երկրների երեխաները:
«Ծայրահեղ աղքատությունը երեխաների համար առավել վտանգավոր է, քանի որ զրկանքներն ազդում են երեխաների օրգանիզմի ձեւավորման եւ նրանց մտավոր զարգացման վրա»,- հայտարարել է ՅՈՒՆԻՍԵՖ-ի գործադիր տնօրեն Անտոնի Լեյքը:
Նա ցնցող է անվանել այն փաստը, որ Սահարայից դեպի հարավ ընկած աֆրիկյան երկրների երեխաների կեսը եւ ընդհանուր առմամբ յուրաքանչյուր հինգերորդ երեխան զանգացող պետություններում մեծանում են ծայրահեղ աղքատության պայմաններում: «Նման իրադրությունը ոչ միայն այդ երեխաներին զրկում է ապագայից, այլեւ հետ է քաշում մեր ամբողջ հասարակությունը»,- հավելել է հիմնադրամի ղեկավարը:
Ներկայում աշխարհում երեխաների գրեթե 20%-ը բնակվում է ընտանիքներում, որոնք օրական միջինը 1.9 դոլար են ծախսում յուրաքանչյուր անձի համար: Զեկույցում նշվում է, որ աղետալի աղքատության պայմաններում հայտնված երեխաների թիվը երկու անգամ ավելին է, քան մեծահասակներինը:
Զեկույցը պատրաստվել է 89 պետություններից ստացված տվյալների հիման վրա, որոնք ներկայացնում են զարգացող պետությունների բնակչության 83%-ը:
