«Հրապարակ» թերթը գրում է. «Նախօրեին համառ լուրեր տարածվեցին մամուլում, թե ՊԵԿ նախագահ Հովհաննես Հովսեփյանը հրաժարական է տվել։ Բանն այն է, որ վարչապետ Կարեն Կարապետյանն այդ պաշտոնին տեսնում է իր հավատարիմ մարդուն, ըստ հավաստի տեղեկությունների՝ «Գազպրոմ Արմենիա» ընկերության նախագահ, իր նախկին տեղակալ եւ երկարամյա ընկեր Վարդան Հարությունյանին։

ՊԵԿ համակարգում խոսում էին, որ թեեւ Հովսեփյանն ընդամենը 7 ամիս է աշխատել, եւ նրա աշխատանքի արդյունքները դեռ այնքան էլ չեն երեւացել, որ հնարավոր լինի գլոբալ հետեւություններ անել, սակայն հարկային, մաքսային ոլորտներում փոփոխությունները նկատելի են՝ բացահայտ կոռուպցիան վերացել է, խոշոր բիզնեսի հարկային վճարումներն ավելացել են, սահմանին բիզնեսի առաջ հարուցվող խոչընդոտները՝ նվազել։ Ճիշտ է՝ հարկային մուտքերը գրեթե համարժեք են 2015-ի մուտքերին, եւ մուտքերի պլանները չեն կատարվում, բայց դա առավելապես պայմանավորված է տնտեսության վիճակով։

Ամեն դեպքում, ՊԵԿ-ում տարակուսած են Հովսեփյանի պաշտոնանկության մասին լուրերից եւ կարծում են, որ վերջինիս պետք է հնարավորություն տալ աշխատելու։ Մանավանդ՝ նախագահի վերահսկողության ծառայության նախկին պետը Սերժ Սարգսյանին անվերապահորեն նվիրված անձանց թվին է պատկանում եւ «կաշվից դուրս» է գալիս նախագահին գոհացնելու համար։

ՊԵԿ-ում չեն հասկանում, թե ինչու Կարեն Կարապետյանը չի վստահում նրան՝ ի՞նչ հանձնարարական է իջեցրել, որ Հովսեփյանը չի կատարել։ Եվ ինչո՞վ է համոզված, որ այդ խնդիրներից Վարդան Հարությունյանն ավելի լավ է գլուխ հանելու։ Թերեւս այս կասկածներն ու խոսակցությունները հասել են նաեւ վարչապետին եւ նախագահին․ մենք տեղեկացանք, որ երեկ կասեցվել է հրաժարականի գործընթացը, եւ հնարավոր է Հովսեփյանը մնա։ Դա վերջնականապես պարզ կլինի մինչեւ շաբաթվա վերջ»:
