Հանրապետական կուսակցությունից ԱՄՆ-ի փոխնախագահի թեկնածու Մայքլ Փենսը հաղթանակ Է տարել դեմոկրատ թեկնածու Թիմոթի Քեյնի հետ հեռուստաբանավեճում, որը կայացել Է Վիրջինիայի նահանգի Ֆարմվիլ քաղաքի Լոնգվուդի համալսարանում: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, վկայում են սցիոլոգիական հարցման արդյունքները, որը CNN հեռուստաընկերության կողմից անցկացվել Է բանավեճից հետո:
Հարցման համաձայն՝ Փենսին բանավեճի հաղթող Է ճանաչել հարցվածների 48 տոկոսը, Քեյնին՝ 42 տոկոսը: Սա ԱՄՆ-ի երկու առաջատար կուսակցություններից փոխնախագահի պաշտոնի թեկնածուների առաջին եւ միակ բանավեճն Էր:
Սպիտակ տան համար պայքարում Փենսի հետ միասին հանդես եկող Դոնալդ Թրամփը՝ նախագահի թեկնածուն, որն իր Twitter-ում ակտիվորեն մեկնաբանում Էր բանավեճի ընթացքը, միջոցառման ավարտից հետո միկրոբլոգում գրել Է. «Մայք Փենսը հաղթեց մեծ առավելությամբ: Մենք բոլորս պետք Է հպարտանանք Մայքով», հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
