Հիլարի Քլինթոնը 2013 թվականի հոկտեմբերին Չիկագոյում ելույթ ունենալով հրեական հիմնադրամի հանդիպմանը, մեղադրել է Սաուդյան Արաբիային ծայրահեղական գաղափարախոսության մասսայական տարածման համար: Նրա ելույթի հատվածները պարունակվում են նրա ներկայիս նախընտրական շտաբի պետ Ջոն Փոդեսթի էլեկտրոնային փոստում, որոնք ավելի վաղ հրապարակել է WikiLeaks կազմակերպությունը, հայտնում է The Washington Examiner-ը:
«Սաուդցիները վերջին 30 տարում տարածել են ավելի շատ ծայրահեղական գաղափարախոսություն, քան ցանկացած այլ երկիր»,- ներկայացված նյութերի համաձայն հոկտեմբերի 28-ին հայտարարել է նախկին պետքարտուղարն իր փակ ելույթի ժամանակ:
Քլինթոնի հակառակորդները հաճախ նրան մեղադրում են Սաուդյան Արաբիայի հետ ունեցած ֆինանսական կապերի մեջ: Ավելի վաղ հայտնի է դարձել, որ երկրի իշխանությունները Քլինթոնի ընտանիքի բարեգործական հիմնադրամին (Clinton Foundation) փոխանցել են 35 միլիոն դոլար:
Նախագահի թեկնածուի շտաբում WikiLeaks-ի ներկայացրած տվյալների վավերականությունը չեն հաստատում: «Այդ փաստաթղթերը տարածել է Ռուսաստանի կառավարությունը: Ազգային անվտանգության նախարարությունը այս շաբաթ աննախադեպ քայլ է կատարել` հայտարարելով, որ, անկասկած, դա եղել են ռուսները, և նրանք են դա արել՝ Դոնալդ Թրամփին օգնելու համար: Նրանք ցանկանում են, որպեսզի մենք թաղվենք դրանց մեջ: Անկասկած, ես չեմ կարող հաստատել այդ փաստաթղթերի իսկությունը»,- հայտնել է Քլինթոնի քարոզարշավի մենեջեր Ռոբի Մուկը CBS հեռուստաալիքին տված հարցազրույցում:
