Զինված ուժերի տոնացույցում հոկտեմբերի 10-ը նշվում է որպես Ռադիացիոն, քիմիական, կենսաբանական պաշտպանության զորքերի օր:

Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, զորատեսակի ստորաբաժանումները ձևավորվել են ՀՀ զինված ուժերի կազմավորմանը զուգընթաց: ՌՔԿՊ զորքերն իրենց դերակատարությունն են ունեցել Արցախյան պատերազմի տարիներին: Սահմանամերձ տեղամասերում և հակառակորդի հավանական հարձակման ուղղությամբ ռադիացիոն, քիմիական, կենսաբանական պաշտպանության ստորաբաժանումների ուժերով կազմակերպվել է անձնակազմի ուսուցումը, իրականացվել է ռազմավար հանդիսացող և վերանորոգման ենթակա կրակային զենքերի հատուկ մշակումը:

Այսօր արդեն զորատեսակն ամբողջովին կայացած կառույց է, որն իր արժանի մասնակցությունն ունի զինված ուժերի զարգացման գործում: Ստեղծված է նյութատեխնիկական անհրաժեշտ բազա, զինված ուժերի զորամիավորումներն ու զորամասերը ապահովված են անհատական պաշտպանական լրակազմերով և հակագազերով, ռադիացիոն, քիմիական հետախուզման մեքենաներով ու միջոցներով, հատուկ մշակման տեխնիկայով ու միջոցներով:

Ստեղծման օրվանից ՌՔԿՊ զորքերի գործունեությունը կազմակերպվում է երկու ուղղություններով. ռադիացիոն, քիմիական, կենսաբանական միջոցների կիրառմամբ հակառակորդի հավանական հարձակման դեպքում զինծառայողների ու քաղաքացիական բնակչության պաշտպանության կազմակերպում և զինված ուժերի անձնակազմին անհատական պաշտպանական լրակազմերից ճիշտ օգտվելու ուսուցանում:

ՀՀ ԶՈՒ ռադիացիոն, քիմիական, կենսաբանական պաշտպանության զորքերի հիմնական նպատակներից է զորքերի (ուժերի) վրա զանգվածային, գերճշգրիտ և այլ տեսակի զենքերի խոցման, ռադիացիոն, քիմիական, կենսաբանական վտանգավոր օբյեկտների ավերածությունների ու վթարների ներգործությունների նվազեցումն ու չեզոքացումը:

Այսօր ԶՈւ ՌՔԿՊ զորքերի վարչությունը ակտիվորեն համագործակցում է ՀԱՊԿ-ի և ՆԱՏՕ-ի հետ: Զորատեսակի բազմաթիվ սպաներ վերապատրաստվում են գործընկեր պետություններում, մասնակցում են տարատեսակ միջազգային վարժանքների և հավաքների, ինչը, անկասկած, նպաստում է զորատեսակի մարտունակության և զինծառայողների պատրաստվածության մակարդակի բարձրացմանը:
