ՀՀ Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը Նյու Յորքում հոկտեմբերի 10-ի առավոտյան հանդիպում է ունեցել Ամերիկայի հայկական համագումարի տնօրենների խորհրդի անդամների հետ:

Ինչպես  տեղեկացրին ՀՀ Նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության և տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից, զրուցակիցներն անդրադարձել են համահայկական կարևորություն ունեցող օրակարգային հարցերին, Ամերիկայի հայկական համագումարի գործունեության առաջնահերթություններին, դինամիկ զարգացող հայ-ամերիկյան հարաբերություններին ու դրանց հետագա ամրապնդման և խորացման հնարավորություններին: Մտքեր են փոխանակել նաև միջազգային արդի խնդիրների, Հարավային Կովկասի տարածաշրջանի մարտահրավերների, ԼՂ հիմն ախնդրի կարգավորման բանակցային գործընթացի ներկա փուլի ու առկա խնդիրների, Սիրիայում շարունակվող ռազմական գործողությունների հետևանքով առաջացած փախստականների հիմնախնդրի շուրջ: Այդ համատեքստում ՀՀ Նախագահը և Ամերիկայի հայկական համագումարի տնօրենների խորհրդի անդամները քննարկել են Սիրիայի մեր հայրենակիցներին, ինչպես նաև ռազմական գործողություններից տուժած Սիրիայի բարեկամ ժողովրդին Հայաստանի Հանրապետության և հայկական տարբեր կազմակերպությունների կողմից համատեղ ջանքերով ցուցաբերվող աջակցությանը վերաբերող հարցեր: 

Սերժ Սարգսյանը պատասխանել է նաև հանդիպման մասնակիցներին հետաքրքրող հարցերին, ներկայացրել Հայաստանի տնտեսական զարգացման ընթացքն ու հեռանկարը, ՀՀ նոր կառավարությունից ակնկալիքները: 

 Միացյալ Նահանգներ աշխատանքային այցի շրջանակներում նույն օրը երեկոյան Նախագահը կմասնակցի «Հայաստան» ներդրումային համաժողովին:
