Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանը հայտարարել է, որ թուրքական զորքերը շարունակելու են մնալ Իրաքի տարածքում` անկախ այդ երկրից եկող բողոքների ու դժգոհությունների: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը` վկայակոչելով թուրքական «Անադոլու» գործակալու թյունը, այս մասին Էրդողանը խոսել է 9-րդ Եվրասիական իսլամական խորհրդում ելույթի ժամանակ:
Անդրադառնալով թուրքական զորամիավորումները իրաքյան Բաշիքա շրջանից դուրս բերելու վերաբերյալ Իրաքի վարչապետի հայտարարություններին` Էրդողանն ասել է. «Դու, որ իմ անձը վիրավորում ես, իմ մակարդակին չես, իմ որակի չես, Իրաքից քո գոռալ-բղավելը մեզ համար բացարձակապես կարևոր չէ: Մենք գիտենք, թե ինչ ենք անելու, դա այդպես էլ իմացիր: Նախ և առաջ չափդ իմացիր»:
Թուրքիայի նախագահը հայտարարել է, որ Բաշիքայի ռազմակայանը կառուցելու համար դեռևս Ահմեդ Դավութօղլուի արտաքին գործերի նախարար լինելու ժամանակ Իրաքից պաշտոնապես դիմել են թուրքական կողմին: «Այդ բոլորի կենդանի ապացույցները կան, այսօր կամ վաղը դրանք բոլորը հեռուստատեսությամբ հրապարակվելու են: Այսօր ասում եք` հեռացեք այստեղից: Թուրքիայի Հանրապետության բանակը դեռևս չի կորցրել կարողություններն այնքան, որ ձեզնից կարգադրություն վերցնի»,- հայտարարել է Էրդողանը` հավելելով, որ ինչպես նախկինում, այնպես էլ այժմ անելու են այն, ինչ անհրաժեշտ են համարում:
Թուրքիայի մեջլիսը կողմ է քվեարկել Իրաքում շուրջ 2 հազարանոց զինված ուժերի տեղակայման ժամկետի երկարաձգմանը` պատճառաբանելով դա «ահաբեկչական խմբավորումների դեմ պայքարելու անհրաժեշտությամբ»:
Իրաքը դատապարտել է պաշտոնական Անկարայի նման որոշումը: Պաշտոնական Բաղդադը կատարվածն անվանել էր Իրաքի ինքնիշխանության իրավունքի ոտնահարում` պահանջելով դուրս բերել զորքերն իր տարածքից: Թուրքական կողմը, սակայն, մերժել է այդ պահանջը:
Հոկտեմբերի 5-ին Անկարան և Բաղդադը կանչել էին հակառակ երկրի դեսպաններին` հայտնելու իրենց մտահոգությունը խնդրի առնչությամբ: Իրաքը հոկտեմբերի 6-ին Միավորված ազգերի կազմակերպության Անվտանգության խորհրդից պահանջել է արտակարգ նիստ գումարել` կապված իր տարածքում թուրքական զինված ուժերի ներկայության անօրինականության հետ:
Թուրքական զորքերը տեղակայված են Մոսուլի Բեշիքայի ռազմաբազայում: Դրանք այդտեղ են հաստատվել դեռևս 2015 թվականից` «Իսլամական պետություն» ահաբեկչական խմբավորման դեմ պայքարում իրաքցի զինվորներին և քրդական փեշմերգային վարժեցնելու նպատակով:
