Радио Свобода подает в суд на администрацию Трампа за прекращение финансирования

Радио Свободная Европа/Радио Свобода, финансируемое правительством США новостное агентство, работающее уже более 70 лет, подает в суд на администрацию президента США Дональда Трампа, чтобы заблокировать прекращение действия его федерального гранта, сообщает NBC News.

Издание сообщило, что Белый дом отказал ему в выделении средств Конгрессом.

Согласно заявлению СМИ,  этот шаг является нарушением Конституции США, «которая наделяет Конгресс исключительными полномочиями в отношении федеральных расходов».

Американское агентство по глобальным СМИ, правительственное учреждение, которое управляет средствами массовой информации Радио Свободная Европа/Радио Свобода, Голос Америки и другими независимыми новостными агентствами, которые вещают на десятках языков по всему миру прекратили свою деятельность в соответствии с указом, подписанным Трампом в прошлую пятницу.
