Սա անօրինակ քայլ էր համաշխարհային քաղաքական պրակտիկայում, երբ ընդդիմության հիմնական ուժի առաջնորդին հնարավորություն չի տրվել անցկացնել նորմալ ընտրարշավ, հնարավորություն չի տրվել շփվել սեփական ժողովրդի հետ։ Այս մասին «Արմենիա» հեռուստաընկերության եթերում ասել է «Ուժեղ Հայաստան» կուսակցության խորհրդի անդամ Նարեկ Կարապետյանը։
«Իհարեկ կարող ենք հասկանալ, թե ինչու է սա արվում, կա բազային վախ։ Գաղտնիք չէ, որ երեք ամիս պահանջել տնային կալանք, նրա համար է արվել, որ մինչև ընտրությունները Սամվել Կարապետյանը հնարավորություն չունենա մասնակցել ընտրարշավին, որովհետև երբ Սամվել Կարապետյանը մասնակցի ընտրարշավին, բոլորը կսկսեն համեմատել Փաշինյանին Կարապետյանի հետ, և բոլորը կհասկանան, որ երկրին ուժեղ առաջնորդ է պետք, և ընտրությունը կգնա Կարապետյանի կողմ, եթե նրանք որևէ մտավախություն չունեն, ինչու են տնային կալանքը երկարացնում։ Հիմնական պատճառը վախն է, սեփական ժողովրդին զսպելու ցանկությունը»,-նշել է նա։
Նարեկ Կարապետյանը նշել է, որ իրենց համար դատարանի որոշումը սպասելի էր, սակայն կարծում էին, որ ժողովրդավարության բազային կանոնները չեն խախտվի։
«Ընդդիմադիր հայացքների դեմ արշավ է իշխանության կողմից, այն իշխանության, որը երկար տարիներ եղել է ընդդիմություն, և որը իշխանության է եկել ժողովրդավարության կոչերով, բայց երբ հագել է այդ կոստյումը, վերածվել է սովորական երկրների կոռումպացված համակարգերի իշխանիկների»,-ասել է նա։
