Սյունիքի զարգացումը Հայաստանի համար ունի ռազմավարական նշանակություն, քանի որ այս մարզը աշխարհաքաղաքական առումով ստրատեգիական դիրք է զբաղեցնում, ապահովում է ՀՀ-ի կապը Իրանի հետ: Այս հանգամանքը կարևորելու արդյունքում էլ մշակվել է Սյունիքի զարգացման ռազմավարությունը, որը Սյունիքի մարզպետ Վահե Հակոբյանը ներկայացրել է վարչապետի՝ Սյունիք կատարած այցի ժամանակ:

Ըստ ռազմավարության՝ նախատեսվում է առաջիկայում ստեղծել Սյունիքի զարգացման ներդրումային հիմնադրամ, որի նպատակն է լինելու տարբեր ոլորտներում ներդրումային ծրագրերի խթանումն ու աշխատատեղերի ստեղծումը: Առաջիկայում մարզի հինգ քաղաքներում ստեղծվելու են վթարավերականգնողական նոր ծառայություններ, որոնք կապահովեն նոր աշխատատեղեր: Աշխատանքներ են տարվում Կապանում ռետինե նյութերի վերամշակման և խողովակների արտադրության երկու գործարաններ հիմնելու ուղղությամբ, որոնք ևս կապահովեն մի քանի տասնյակ աշխատատեղեր:

Միևնույն ժամանակ հարկ է նշել, որ մարզում կան կուտակված բազմաթիվ խնդիրներ, որոնց լուծման համար անհրաժետ քայլեր պետք է ձեռնարկվեն: Հենց այդ խնդիրների լուծման անհրաժեշտությունը կարևորել է վարչապետը և նշել. «Առարկայական խոսելու համար պետք է հստակ ախտորոշենք, թե ինչպիսի խնդիր կա, ինչպես պետք է ծախսերը նվազեցնենք, արդյոք կարո՞ղ ենք լրացուցիչ ակտիվների հաշվին հոգալ խնդիրները, որ մասն է իր վրա վերցնելու համայնքը, որը մարզպետարանը և որը պետական բյուջեն: Երբ այս համատեքստում խոսենք, քայլ առ քայլ գնալու ենք առաջ: Երբ խնդիրն անորոշ է, դա լուծելու ճանապարհն էլ է անորոշ»: Իրոք, միայն մարզի պրոբլեմների հստակ ախտորոշման դեպքում հնարավոր կլինի գտնել դրանց լուծման ուղիները:
