1989թ. հոկտեմբերի 12-ին ծնվեց Վազգեն Սարգսյանի «տղան»` Կառլեն Սարգսյանը:
Կառլենը Արմեն Սարգսյանի որդին է, բայց Վազգեն Սարգսյանի սիրելի տղան. «նա իմ տղան է` գնացեք ձեր համար երեխա ունեցեք»,-հաճախակի ասել է` Վազգեն Սարգսյանը: Կառլեն Սարգսյանի հետ ունեցած հարցազրույցում նշեց. «ինձ շատ է ոգևորում այն փաստը, որ շատ է սիրել ինձ և որպես հարազատ տղա է ընդունել: Շատերը կերազեին իմ տեղը լինեին…»:
-Ինչպիսի՞ն էր Վազգեն Սարգսյանը որպես հորեղբայր:
– Որպես հորրեղբայր կարող է ծնողից առավել լիներ նույնիսկ, եթե ծնողս ժամանակ չէր ունենում ինձ հետ զբաղվելու, բայց ինքն այդ զբաղվածության հետ միասին կարող էր խոսել ամեն թեմայով, մինչև անգամ աշխատանքից: Աշխատանքը քննարկեր ինձ հետ, նույնիսկ բացատրություն ինձ տար, թե ինչի՞ է այդ քայլը անում: Կարծում եմ դրանից այնկողմ մարդը չի կարող մոտ լինի ինձ:
– Այսինքն նա ձեզ համար ծնող է եղել:
– Ինձ համար այո: Իմ ծնողները, իմ ծնողներն են, ես իրենց շատ սիրում եմ և դա քննարկման եթակա չի, բայց նա ինձ որպես ծնող է եղել (ժպտալով շարունակեց) ասենք լողալ, большой теннис, լիժա քշել, ֆուտբոլ խաղալ ինքն է սովորեցրել: Ֆուտբոլի մեծ սերը, որ ինձ մոտ կա, նա է սերմանել, էլ ի՞նչ ասեմ: Իմ հայրը, եթե ասեմ դրանցից մի բան սովորեցրել է, սուտ կլինի:
-Ապրիլյան պատերազմի ժամանակ միտք ունեի՞ք ինքներդ գնայիք առաջնագիծ:
– Միտք ունեի գնալու. գնացել, շրջել, հետ եմ եկել, բայց իմ կարիքը որպես կամավոր չկար` ամենաշատը ապրիլյան պատերազմի ժամանակ զգացել եմ Վազգենի պակասը, ոչ թե իմ հորեղբայրն է, ուզում եմ մեծարե, այլ կարծում եմ դա բոլորն են զգացել, նույնիսկ կարծում եմ, եթե ինքը լիներ «դուխ» էլ չէին անի տենց քայլ անեին…
Վազգեն Սարգսյան.«Ինձ ժողովուրդը չի ճանաչում: Ինձ նորմալ ճանաչում են իմ նեղ շրջապատի մարդիկ: Մնացյալը գիտեն ինձ մորուքով, գիտեն ջղայնացած, գիտեն քրտնած, այսօրվա եղած կերպարը դա է: Ինձ չեն հասկանում: Ինձնից վախենում են: Իրենց համար արջի կերպար են ստեղծել ու իրար վախեցնում են: Մեկ-մեկ ես էլ եմ վախենում, որ չեմ հասցնի, ժամանակ չեմ ունենա, ցանկություն չեմ ունենա, չգիտեմ էլ ինչ չեմ ունենա ժողովրդին ասելու` այ ժողովուրդ, իրար հասկանանք, ճիշտ հասկանանք իրար… ես Աստված չեմ, ես զինվոր եմ, ես հայ եմ, ես…
Չեն հասկանա: Դրա համար էլ չեմ ասում: Ամեն մարդ ինքն իր առաջ պիտի պատասխան տա` ո՞վ է ինքը…»:
