Դեռ փոքր հասակից աղջիկների համար գեղեցկության իդեալ է համարվում բարբի տիկնիկը: Ինչքան էլ քննադատեն, թե երկար ոտքերով, փարթամ կրծքերով, մեծ աչքերով ու նուրբ դիմագծերով այդ տիկնիկը մանկական խաղալիք չէ, միևնույն է, այն շարունակում է մնալ փոքր ու մեծ աղջիկների ամենասիրելի խաղալիքը: Մեծանալով, շատ աղջիկներ այդպես էլ չեն հաղթահարում իրենց` այդ տիկնիկին կանացի գեղեցկության իդեալ համարելու բարդույթը, և ամեն տեսակ միջոցների դեմելով` փորձում են փոքր-ինչ նմանվել նրան:
Ընդհանրապես բարբի աղջիկը մեր օրերի ֆենոմեններից է: Չկա մի մարդ, ով չի ճանաչում ուկրաինուհի հայտնի բարբի տիկնիկ Վալերիա Լուկիանովային, ով ոչ միայն չի թաքցնում, որ ինքը փորձում է տիկնիկի նմանվել, այլ նաև կանգ չի առնում այդ նմանվելու ճանապարհին:
Վերջին տարիներին բարբի տիկնիկին նմանվելու տենդենցը գրավել է նաև Հայաստանն ու հայ աղջիկներին: Բազմաթիվ պլաստիկ վիրահատությունների ու հատուկ դիմահարդարման միջոցով մեր հայուհիները հրաժարվում են իրենց բնական գեղեցկությունից ու «անշունչ տիկնիկ» դառնում:
