Luxury: But the sun-kissed paradise island, which has also been enjoyed by Prince Edward, his wife Sophie Countess of Wessex and Paris Hilton, is going on sale for £17million

Relaxation: The island, which is owned by a Barcelona-based billionaire, is famous for its healing mud baths, which which Prince William larked about in during his holiday with Kate in 2006

Stunning: Upmarket estate agents Savills are asking €24million (£17,272,800) for the 338 acre island, which can be reached on foot from neighbouring Formentera at low tide

Paradise: Its Barcelona-based owners have decided to put Espalmador on the market almost a decade after Prince William and Kate were first seen there

Hotspot: Espalmador, which is located in the Balearic Islands, is a popular stopping point for yachts heading between Ibiza and Formentera

Time off: Socialite Paris Hilton (second from left) treated herself to a mud bath on the island in September last year during a break from her world DJ tour

Sunset: As well as Prince William and  Kate, celebrities including Paris Hilton and Sophie Wessex have moored up to enjoy the waters off Espalmador

Day trip: The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Espalmador in September 2006 from nearby Ibiza where they were staying at Maison Bang Bang - the £6million mansion of Kate's uncle, Gary Goldsmith

Paradise: The current owners of Espalmador, Rosy and Norman Cinnamond, spent years holidaying on the island in one of its two houses

Tradition: Thousands of tourists (pictured) have followed the Duke of Cambridge's footsteps and taken a dip in the mud baths on Espalmador though they are now banned and subject to a fine
