Ռուբեն Հախվերդյանի՝ օրերս արտահայտած խնդրահարույց մտքերը արդեն քանի օր է՝ ակտիվ քննարկումների առիթ են դարձել: Տպավորություն կա, թե հայաստանյան հասարակությունը նոր է բացահայտել Ռուբեն Հախվերդյան հասարակական գործչին: Որպես երգահան՝ Հախվերդյանը բացահայտված է վաղուց և բացահայտված է բացառապես դրական երանգներով: Սակայն նրա հասարակական ու քաղաքական թեմաներով արտահայտությունները մշտապես խնդրահարույց են եղել, ու սա առաջին դեպքը չէ:

Հախվերդյանով, սակայն , այս խնդիրը չի սահմանափակվում: Կա առավել խորքային շերտ: Հայաստանյան հասարակությունն ինքն իր համար հորինել է մտավորականի իդեալական կերպար և այդ կերպարից շեղվողներին հաճախ գամում է անարգանքի սյունին: Լավ երգահանին վերագրում է ավելին, քան երգն է, լավ ճարտարապետին՝ ավել ին, քան ճարտարապետությունն է: Տաղանդավոր մարդկանց մեջ փորձ է արվում տեսնել ավելին, քան եղած տաղանդը: Եթե, օրինակ, Հախվերդյանի մեջ չտեսնեինք մտավորականի, խոսք ասողի, քաղաքական կարծիք հայտնողի, այլ միայն երգահանի, գուցե ինքն էլ չդիրքավորվեր թվարկված կլիշեների ներքո ու մնար որպես երգահան:
