Սպիտակ մազերը ծերության նշան են:
Իրականում այնքան էլ այդպես չէ:
Պարզվում է՝ որոշակի դեպքերում մազերի սպիտակելը բոլորովին էլ չի նշանակում օրգանիզմի ծերացում: Սկզբից փորձենք պարզել, թե ինչ է կատարվում մազի հետ, երբ այն սպիտակում է: Մազերի գույնի համար պատասխանատու է մազարմատում գտնվող մելանոցիտ կոչվող բջիջներում արտադրվող հատուկ պիգմենտ մելանինը: Մելանոցիտների հարևանությամբ գտնվում են նաև կերատոցիտները, որոնք էլ արտադրում են մազի հիմնական շինարարական նյութը՝ կերատին սպիտակուցը: Այս նյութերի արտադրման որոշակի ժամանակահատվածում նյութերը խառնվում են միմյանց և արդյունքում էլ ձևավորվում է մազի գույնը: Ընդ որում, մազի գույնը կախված է նրանից, թե մելանինի ինչ տեսակից ինչ քանակի է արտադրվում: Օրինակ, ֆեոմելանին շատ արտադրվելու դեպքում մազերը շեկ են կամ սպիտակ, իսկ էումելանինի մեծ քանակը մազերին տալիս է սև կամ շագանակագույն երանգ: Մազերի սպիտակելու պատճառները շատ են, և, իհարկե, դրա առաջին պատճառը օրգանիզմի, այսպես ասած, ծերացման սկիզբն է, որը արտահայտվում է մելանինի թերարտադրությամբ: Ըստ գիտնականների, ի սկզբանե այդ երևույթի մեկնարկը կանխորոշված է գենետիկորեն, բայց որոշել, թե երբ այն կոնկրետ կսկսվի, անհնար է: Սակայն կա վիճակագրություն, որն ասում է, որ ասիացիների մոտ առաջին սպիտակ մազերը հայտնվում են 30 տարեկանում, եվրոպացիների մոտ՝ 35-ում, իսկ ահա սևամորթների մոտ՝ 40-ն անց: Պարզ է, որ 30-40 տարեկաններին դժվար է ծեր համարել: Ի դեպ շիկահերների մազերի սպիտակելը ավելի շուտ է սկսվում, քան սևահերներինը: Բացի օրգանիզմի աստիճանական ծերացումից, կան նաև մազերի սպիտակելու այլ պատճառներ, ընդ որում՝ դա լինում է երբեմն անգամ մինչև 20 տարեկանը: Այս ամենի հիմնական պատճառներից մեկը ժառանգականությունն է. եթե հայրը շուտ է սպիտակել, ապա ամենահավանականն այն է, որ նրա տղան էլ շուտ կսպիտակի: Բացի այդ, կան հիվանդություններ, որոնք բերում են մազերի սպիտակելուն, օրինակ՝ վահանաձև գեղձի հիպերֆունկցիա, պերնիցիոզ անէմիան և այլն: Հանդիպում են նաև արտաքին միջավայրի որևէ ազդեցության կամ որևէ վիտամինի կամ միկրոէլեմենտի բացակայության պատճառով մազերի սպիտակելու դեպքեր: Նաև համարվում է, որ սպիտակելու պատճառը նյարդերն են, և դա իրոք ճիշտ է: Հայտնի են դեպքեր, երբ մեկ օրվա ընթացքում հոգեկան ապրումների պատճառով մարդկաց մազերը սպիտակում են: Բանն այն է, որ մազը սնամեջ է, որի մեջ գտնվում է մելանինով հեղուկը, իսկ սթրեսային պայմաններում առաջանում են հատուկ սպիտակուցային նյութեր՝ նեյրոպեպտիդներ, որոնք էլ, անցնելով մազի մեջ, խախտում են մելանինի շրջանառությունը:
Հետաքրքիր է, բայց եվրոպական երկրներում սպիտակահեր մարդկանց համարում են ոչ հեռանկարային և աշխատում են աշխատանքի չընդունել: Բացի այդ, նմանները կորցնում են իրենց գրավչությունը հակառակ սեռի մոտ, իսկ դա բերում է բազմաթիվ կոմպլեքսների առաջացման: Սպիտակելուց ամենաշատը վախենում են կանայք, ինչը հասկանալի է: Իսկ ահա Արևելքում ալեհերներին վերաբերվում են ավելի հանդուրժողական և հարգանքով: Բանն այն է, որ այնտեղ ծերությունը համարում են մարդու կյանքի հրաշալի ժամանակահատված:
