Հայուհի, ով նախարար է Ավստրալիայում

Wnews.am-ը շարունակում է ներկայացնել հայտնի ու հեղինակավոր հայ կանանց։ Այս անգամ ներկայացնում ենք ավստրալական Նոր Ուելս նահանգի տրանսպորտի նախարար Գլեդիս Բերեջիկյանին։
Գլեդիսը ծնվել է 1970թ. Սիդնեյում, հայկական ընտանիքում։ Նա ավարտել է Սիդնեյի ինստիտուտի միջազգային հարաբերությունների բաժինը, որից հետո նաեւ Նոր Հյուսիսային Ուելսի համալսարանը։
Աշխատել է Ավստրալիայի հայկական կոմիտեում։
1993 թ. նա մտել է Ավստրալիայի Լիբերալիստական կուսակցության շարքերը, իսկ 1996 թ. դարձել երիտասարդական թեւի ղեկավար։
Նա դարձել է գեղեցիկ սեռի առաջին ներկայացուցիչը, ում հաջողվել է հասնել այդ կուսակցության ղեկավար կազմի վերին օղակներին։ Հաջորդող տարիներին Գլեդիս Բերեջիկյանը սկսել է աշխատել կուսակցության գլխավոր գրասենյակում, զբաղեցրել բարձր պաշտոններ ու ընտրարշավին առանցքային դեր է ունեցել։
Բերեջիկյանն աշխատել է ավստրալական այնպիսի նշանակալի նահանգապետերի հետ, ինչպիսիք են Պիտեր Քոլինզն ու Հելեն Կոոնան, զուգահեռ ղեկավարել է ավստրալական «Commonwealth Bank of Australia»-ը։
2003 թ. նա ընտրվել է Նոր Ուելս նահանգի խորհրդարանի սենատոր։
2011-ին Լիբերալիստական կոալիցիան հաղթել է Նոր Հյուսիսային Ուելսի ընտրություններն ու Գլեդիս Բերեջիկյանը նշանակվել է Ավստրալիայի ամենախոշոր Նոր Հյուսիսային Ուելս նահանգի տրանսպորտի նախարար։
Բերեջիկյանը ինչպես նախկինում, այնպես էլ հիմա, հանդիսանալով Ներքին պալատի պատգամավոր եւ տրանսպորտի նախարար, պաշտպանում է պրոհայկական օրինագծերն ու բանաձեւերը։ Ավելին, նա նախաձեռնում է ավստրալական հասարակության մեջ քննարկումներ, որոնք վերաբերում են Հայոց ցեղասպանությանն ու հայկական հարցին։
Գլեդիսն ամուսնացած չէ։
