Հայաստանի ներկայիս իշխանությունները, ինչպես եւ նախկինները, գիտության մեջ արտաքին քաղաքականության գործիք չեն տեսնում։ Այս մասին հունվարի 10-ին լրագրողների հետ հանդիպման ժամանակ ասել է Բյուրականի աստղադիտարանի տնօրեն Արեգ Միքայելյանը։

Նրա խոսքով՝ գիտությունը ու տուրիզմը պետք է դառնան երկրի գլխավոր առաջնահերթություններն ու շարժիչ ուժերը միջազգային ասպարեզում։

Տնօրենն ավելացրել է, որ Բյուրականի աստղադիտարանը աստղագիտության տարածաշրջանային կենտրոնն է եւ ճանաչված է որպես այդպիսին այդ թվում Թուրքիայի, Վրաստանի, Իրանի կողմից։ «Այդ ցուցակում չի մտնում միայն Ադրբեջանը, որտեղ արգելված են ցանկացած շփում եւ համագործակցություն հայ գիտնականների հետ»,- ասել է նա։

Միքայելյանը տեղեկացրել է, որ անցած տարի Բյուրականի աստղադիտարանը զբոսաշրջության հաշվին 210 մլն դրամ բյուջետային հատկացումների կողքին վաստակել է արտաբյուջետային 17,5 մլն դրամ, սակայն պոտենցիալը շատ ավելի բարձր կլինի, եթե բավականաչափ ուշադրություն հատկացվի։

Տնօրենն ընդգծել է, որ աստղադիտարանի աշխատակիցները շատ ակտիվ են միջազգային գործընկերների հետ համագործակցությունում, ինչի մասին վկայում են ավելի քան 60 ուղեւորություններն աշխարհի տարբեր ուղղություններով, հիմնականում զարգացած գիտություն ունեցող երկրներ, որոնք իրականացվել են ի հաշիվ արտաբյուջետային միջոցների, հիմնականում արտասահմանից։

Նա տեղեկացրել է, որ անցած տարի երեք հեռադիտակ, որոնք գտնվում են Պետերբուրգի համալսարանի հաշվեկշռում, անվճար տրվել են Բյուրականի աստղադիտարանին։ «Կարեւոր գիտական նվաճումներից կարելի է առանձնացնել այն փաստը, որ Համբարձումյանի անվան ծրագրին հատկացված 300 հազար դոլարից 100 հազարը կօգտագործվի Հայաստանում գիտական նպատակների համար, ինչը նախկինում չկար, քանի որ պարգեւավճարները տրվում էին առանձին գիտնականների։ Ինչ վերաբերում է 2020 թվականին, ապա կարելի է նշել, որ սպասվում է եվրոպական հեղինակավոր «Astronomy & Astrophysics» ամսագրի  տնօրենների խորհրդի (Եվրոպայի 28 երկրից) նիստը։ Բացի այդ, աստղադիտարանի 75-ամյակին նվիրված միջոցառումների կազմակերպման ակտիվ աշխատանք կտարվի, որի շրջանակում նախատեսվում է հրապարակել գիրք, որտեղ կընդհանրացվեն աշխատանքի արդյունքները»,- եզրափակել է Արեգ Միքայելյանը։
