Բրայան Անդերսոնը երթևեկում էր մայրուղիով իր հին «Ֆորդով»: Արդեն մթնում էր և անձրև էր գալիս և նա ցանկանում էր շուտ տուն հասնել, երբ նա նկատեց մի անսարք «Մերսեդես», որի կողքին տարեց կին էր կանգնած:

Բրայանը կանգ առավ և առաջարկեց իր օգնությունը: Նա բարեհամբույր ժպտաց և խոսեց կնոջ հետ. «Բարև Ձեզ, իմ անունը Բրայան Անդերսոն է: Տեսնում եմ, դուք անելանելի իրավիճակում եք հայտնվել: Միգուցե ես կարողանա՞մ ինչ-որ բանով օգնել»:

Պարզվեց, որ ընդամենը անվադողն էր ծակվել: Բայց կինը ի վիճակի չէր փոխել այն: Նա արդեն երկու ժամ այդպես կանգնած էր, և ոչ ոք չէր կանգնում, որ նրան օգնի:

Բրայանը նրան առաջարկեց սպասել իր մեքենայում, և ինքը գործի անցավ: Նա փոխեց անվադողը, չնայած այդ ընթացքում շատ կեղտոտվեց և կոտրեց մատը:

Երջանիկ կինը չգիտեր ինչպես շհնորհակալություն հայտնի իր փիկչին: Նա գումար առաջարկեց, բայց Բրայանը հրաժարվեց վերցնել: «Ես էլ եմ շատ անգամներ հայտնվել նմանատիպ իրավիճակներում, և ինձ միշտ օգնության են հասել մարդիկ, ովքեր փոխարենը ոչինչ չեն ուզել: Ողղակի օգնեք առաջին պատահած մարդուն, ով օգնության կարիք կունենա»,- ժպտալով պատասխանեց Բրայանը:

Տղայի արարքից տպավորված՝ կինը շարունակեց իր ճանապարհը: Մոտակա քաղաքում նա կանգ առավ մի սրճարանի մոտ՝ մի բաժակ սուրճ խմելու: Ներսում բավականին անհարմար էր և աղմկոտ: Բայց երիտասարդ մատուցողուհին այնպիսի ժպիտով ընդունեց կնոջը, որ նա որոշեց մնալ:

Խմելով իր սուրճը՝ կինը հետևում էր մատուցողուհուն: Երևում էր, որ նա հազիվ է հասցնում, և ոչ մի օգնող չուներ: Բայց աղջիկը բոլորի հետ բարեհամբույր էր:

Ուշադիր նայելով՝ կինը նկատեց, որ աղջիկը հղի է: Պարզ էր, որ աշխատանքը շատ ծանր էր աղջկա համար: Այդ պահին կինը հիշեց իրեն օգնող տղայի խոսքերը, և որոշեց գոնե ինչ-որ կերպ օգնել այդ աղջկան: Նա անձեռոցիկի վրա ինչ-որ բան գրեց, վրան դրեց սուրճի համար գումարը և դուրս եկավ սրճարանից:

Աղջիկը մոտեցավ սեղանին և գտավ գրությունն ու գումարը:

Այնտեղ գրված էր. «Տեսնում եմ, որ քեզ հեշտ չէ, դրա համար որոշեցի օգնել քեզ: Ես այսօր նույնպես հայտնվել եմ դժվար իրավիճակում, և ինձ օգնել են, փոխարենը ոչինչ չվերցնելով: Դրա համար ես որոշոցի ինքս էլ օգնել ինչ-որ մեկին: Դու ինձ ոչինչ պարտք չես, ուղղակի դու էլ մի բարի գործ արա մեկ ուրիշի համար: Թույլ մի տուր, որ այս բարի գործերի շրջանակը քեզանով ավարտվի»: Անձեռոցիկի տակ կար ևս 400 դոլար:

Այս ամենից ոգևորված, աղջիկը մեծ ուժով լցվեց: Նրան և իր սիրելիին իրոք անհրաժեշտ էր այդ գումարը, քանի որ նրանք փոքրիկի էին սպասում:

Աղջկա հերթափոխն ավարտվեց: Նրան, ինչպես միշտ, դրսում սպասում էր իրեն շատ սիրող ամուսինը: Փաթաթվելով ամուսնուն՝ աղջիկը շշնջաց նրա ականջին. «Ես սիրում եմ քեզ, Բրայան Անդերսոն…»:

Այս պատմությունը ևս մեկ անգամ ապացուցում է այն փաստը, որ երբ բարի գործ ես անում, այն միշտ հարյուրապատկված ետ է վերադառնում:
