The Daily Mail-ի փոխանցմամբ՝ ոչ վաղ անցյալում փորձագետները կնճիռների վաղ գոյացումը կանխելու համար կանանց խորհուրդ էին տալիս ավելի շատ ջուր օգտագործել։ Անգլիայում անցկացված վերջին հետազոտությունը, սակայն, մեծապես կասկածի տակ է դրել դրա ճշմարտացիությունը։

Հետազոտությանը մասնակից կին կամավորները 8 շաբաթվա ընթացքում օրական խմել են 1.5 լիտր ջուր, ընդ որում՝ նրանց մի մասը խմել է սովորական, իսկ մյուս մասը՝ հանքային ջուր։ Ամեն օր ստուգվել է նրանց մաշկի վիճակը, կնճիռների երկարությունն ու խորությունը։ Արդյունքում պարզվել է, որ այդչափ ջրի օրական կիրառումը եթե ոչ ընդհանրապես, ապա միայն աննշան չափով է օգտակար կնճիռների համար։

Փորձագետներից մեկը դա բացատրել է նրանով, որ մաշկի խոնավությունը կապված չէ այն բանի հետ, թե մարդը որքան ջուր է խմում, այլ կախված է նրա արտաքին գործառույթից։ Երբ նա աշխատում է նորմալ և վնասվածքներ չի ունենում, մաշկը պահպանում է խոնավությունը, ուստի լինում է հարթ ու թարմ։
