LIFEՍկզբում այս վայրը սովորական ծովափի տեսք ուներ: Բայց 1998թ., երբ փոթորկի շնորհիվ ավազն սկսեց մաքրվել, հայտնագործություն արվեց,-տեղեկացնում է Past.am-ը:
Հարյուրավոր տարիներ ավազի տակ պահպանվել էին հսկայական հնադարյան անտառի հետքեր, որոնք գրեթե 2000 տարեկան են: Այժմ մոտ 100 ծառի բուն սփռված է ԱՄՆ Օրեգոն նահանգի Նեսքովինի ծովափին: Դրանք հիացնում ու զարմացնում են այցելուներին՝ հիշեցնելով, որ երբեմն իրականությունն այն չէ, ինչ թվում է: Գիտնականները կարծում են, որ երկրաշարժը կամ ցունամին է փաստացի մաքրել անտառը:
Հետաքրքիրն այն է, որ ծառերի բները պահպանվել են հենց նույն բնական աղետի ժամանակ, որը ավերել էր անտառը: Աղետը դրանք թաղել է ավազի խորքերում և նպաստել դրանց փրկությանը: Ենթադրվում է, որ դրանք եղել են 60 մ բարձրությամբ փշատերև ծառեր: Մինչ փոթորիկը տեղացիները նկատել են ավազի տակից դուրս եկած որոշ ելուստներ: Այս բները, սակայն, շուտով կրկին կծածկվեն ավազով:
