Հնդկաստանում ստամոքսի քրոնիկական ցավից տառապող դեռահասը շոկի մեջ էր, երբ բժիշկները նրան ասացին, որ ցավերի պատճառը նրա չձևավորված երկվորյակի պտուղն է։
Բժիշկները ցնցված էին՝ Նարենդա Կումարի օրգանիզմում 2,5 կգ մազերի, ատամների ու ոսկրի զանգված հայտնաբերելով։
Մակաբույծը սնվում էր 18-ամյա Նարենդայով՝ պորտալարի նման ձևավորված հյուսվածքի միջոցով, որն արյուն էր քաշում իր երկվորյակի անոթներից։
Տղայի մոտ ախտորոշվեց «foetus in fetu» կոչվող խանգարումը, որի միայն 200 դեպք է գրանցվել ամբողջ աշխարհում մինչ այժմ։
Այս խանգարումն առաջանում է, երբ երկվորյակներով հղիության վաղ շրջանում պտուղներից մեկը մյուսի մեջ է մտնում պորտալարի միջոցով։
Այնտեղ այն վերածվում է մակաբույծի՝ ապրելով իր երկվորյակի մարմնի հաշվին։
Ուտար Պրատեշ նահանգի Սվարուպ Նարայան հիվանդանոցի բժիշկների համաձայն՝ այն ապրել է տղայի օրգանիզմում որպես մակաբույծ նրա ծնունդից ի վեր։
Բժիշկները պատմել են, որ տղան գանգատվել է փսխումներից ու քաշի կորստից, սակայն նրա ծնողները չեն կարողացել հասկանալ պատճառը։
Միայն վիրահատությունից հետո էր, որ բժիշկները բացահայտեցին նրա հիվանդության պատճառի իրական «դեմքը»։
Տղայի ստամոքսն աճում էր, սակայն բժիշկները չէին կարողանում հասկանալ նրա խնդրի պատճառը հիվանդության վաղ շրջանում։
Տեխնիկապես պտուղը կենդանի էր և աճում էր նյութափոխանակության գործընթացի շնորհիվ։
Բժիշկ Սինղն առաջինն էր, ով պատշաճ բուժզննում իրականացրեց, այդ թվում՝ ուլտրաձայնային հետազոտության ու համակարգչային տոմոգրաֆիայի ենթարկեց հիվանդին մինչև նրա հիվանդությունն ախտորոշելը, որից հետո վիրահատություն իրականացվեց, ու հեռացվեց 20 սմ երկարություն ունեցող, 2 մետրի հասնող մազածածկույթով ու ատամներով զանգվածը, որն իրենից ներկայացնում էր թույլ ձևավորված գլուխ, կրծքավանդակի ու ողնաշարի ոսկրային կառուցվածք և լցված էր դեղնավուն ամնիոտիկ հեղուկի նման հեղուկով։
