1922թ. Ալեքպոլի առևտրական ուսումնարանի հենքի վրա ստեղծվում է ինդուստրիալ տեխնիկում, որը ունեցել է երեք բաժին՝ գյուղատնտեսական, էլեկտրատեխնիկական և շինարարական: 1924թ. ինդուստրիալ տեխնիկումի գյուղատնտեսական բաժնի վրա հիմնադրվում է Լենինականի դաշտավարական տեխնիկումը, որը 1970թ. վերանվանվել է Հացիկի սովխոզ-տեխնիկում, 1989թ.` Հացիկի խորհրդային տնտեսության տեխնիկում, 1992թ.` Հացիկի պետական տնտեսության տեխնիկում, 1996թ.` Ախուրյանի պետական գյուղատնտեսական տեխնիկում, 2000թ.` Շիրակի ակ. Մ.Գ. Թումանյանի անվան պետական գյուղատնտեսական քոլեջ: 2012թ. այն, որպես մասնաճյուղ, ընդգրկվել է Հայաստանի ազգային ագրարային համալսարանի կազմում:
Hraparak.am-ի հրապրակման համաձայն՝ Ագրարային համալսարանի ռեկտորի պարտականությունները կատարող Հրաչյա Զաքոյանը համալսարանի հոգաբարձուների խորհրդին առաջարկել է փակել Շիրակի ակադեմիկոս Մ Թումանյանի անվան 102-ամյա գյուղատնտեսական քոլեջը: Հոգաբարձուների խորհուրդը այսօր կամ վաղը նիստ է անելու, նիստի օրակարգում քոլեջի փակման հարցն է։
Զաքոյանի հիմնավորմամբ՝ քոլեջը չի կարողանում ապահովել ինքնաֆինասավորում, և համալսարանը 2023թ. քոլեջին աջակցել է 17 միլիոն դրամով, ուստի առաջարկում է խորհրդին՝ դիմել ԿԳՄՍ նախարարությանը, հնարավորինս շտապ քոլեջի ծանր բեռից համալսարանին ազատելու միջնորդությամբ: Իսկ թե ինչպես է լինելու քոլեջի դասախոսների, աշխատակիցների և շուրջ 150 ուսանողների ապագան, համալսարանի ղեկավարությանը չի հետաքրքրում:
Որն է իմ դիրքորոշումն այս հարցում. կրթությունը ծանր բեռ համարող կրթական ոլորտի պատասխանատուներ, հեռու մնացեք 102 -ամյա ուսումնական հաստատությունից։ Եթե չեք կարող օգնել, գոնե մի խանգարեք։
