20-րդ դարասկզբին հայ ժողովրդի ցեղասպանությունն արձանագրված է որպես մարդկության դեմ գործված դարի առաջին հանցագործություն՝ ազգի բնաջնջման, էթնիկ ատելության հրեշավոր դրսևորումներով։
Անգամ չեմ ուզում թվարկել պետությունների և միջազգային կազմակերպությունների այն հսկայական ցանկը, որոնք մեկընդմիշը ճանաչել և դատապարտել են հայ ժողովրդի պատմության եղերական այս էջը:
Գիտե՞ք, դժվար է, շատ դժվար է ի ծնե քո ուսերին կրել ցեղասպանված ազգի սերունդ լինելու փաստը: Դժվար է դպրոցական նստարանից սերտել բոլոր այն անմարդկային զրկանքները, որ քո ազգի մայրերը, դուստրերն ու որդիներն են կրել, բայց Եղեռնը մեր ժողովրդի հավաքական ցավն է, ողբերգությունն ու, ամենակարևորը, ՀԻՇՈՂՈՒԹՅՈՒՆԸ:
Քաղաքական նպատակահարմարությունից ու պատեհապաշտությունից ելնելով մի շարք երկրներ պարզապես հետաձգում էին պատմական այս փաստի ճանաչումը, բայց որ մի օր այդ աղետը մեր դուռն էլ կթակի... Հիմա նստել մտածում եմ՝ տեսնես մեր արժեհամակարգի, մեր հոգեկերտվածքի, մեր սկզբունքների մասին ինչ կարծիք են կազմում բոլոր այս կառույցները, երբ լսում են թե մեր չինովնիկները ինչ քննարկումներ են «խրախուսում»...
