Պալեոլիթի վաղ փուլերին վերաբերող բացառիկ բազալտե չոպերը հայտնաբերվել են Տավուշի մարզում գտնվող «Հաղթանակ-3» բացօթյա հնավայրից և թվագրվում են մեզանից 1․8-1․6 մլն տարի առաջ ժամանակահատվածով:
«Արմենպրես»-ի հետ զրույցում Հայաստանի պատմության թանգարանի հնագիտության և դրամագիտության բաժնի գիտաշխատող-ֆոնդապահ Անի Ադիգյոզալյանը նշեց, որ այն իր հնությամբ ու նշանակությամբ դասվում է Եվրասիայի համաժամանակյա դասական նմուշների շարքին:
«Գործիքը գտնվել է ստորին պալեոլիթի քարի մշակման «գլաքարային» ավանդույթի կամ այսպես կոչված օլդուվեյան մշակույթի փուլն արտահայտող «Հաղթանակ-3» բացօթյա հնավայրից։ Կանոնավոր ուրվագծերով այս գործիքն ունի երկկողմանի մշակում` արված բեկորների հեռացման և ռետուշման եղանակներով: Այն պատրաստվել է գլաքարից․ հարվածելով գլաքարին՝ ստացել են սուր եզրեր, որով կարողացել են կտրել, քերթել, մսից առանձնացնել մաշկը, ոսկորից՝ միսը, կտրել բույսեր, մշակել փայտը և այլն: Կարելի է ասել, որ չոպերը եղել են նախամարդու «շվեյցարական դանակ»-ի ֆունկցիան կատարող գործիք»,- նշեց մասնագետը:
Ըստ նրա՝ թեև Հայաստանում հայտնաբերված ստորին պալեոլիթյան հուշարձանները դեռևս համալիր ուսումնասիրությունների չեն ենթարկվել, սակայն դրանց առկայությունն արդեն իսկ խոսում է Աֆրիկայից դուրս Հայաստանի տարածքում մարդու ձևավորման և էվոլյուցիայի հենակետ լինելու մասին:
