Միջազգայնագետ Սուրեն Սարգսյանը գրում է. «Թրամփի նախագահության երկրորդ շրջանը չի կարող նման լինել առաջինին: Ժամանակներն ու իրողություններն այլ են, միջազգային իրավիճակն այլ է, շատ ուղղություններով էլ ամերիկյան արտաքին քաղաքականությունը շատ հեռու է գնացել Բայդենի նախագահության չորսամյակում (այդ թվում Հարավային Կովկասում): Նույնիսկ լինելով գլոբալ գերտերության ղեկավար, Թրամփը չի կարող հաշվի չառնել այս իրողությունները:
Թրամփը չի կարող գնալ որոշակի ինքնամեկուսացման առաջին քառամյակի օրինալով և զբաղվել առավելապես ներքին խնդիրներով: Հեռու եմ այն մտքից, որ նա դուրս կգա ՆԱՏՕ-ից կամ կքանդի այն, ինչպես պնդում են նրա հակառակորդները: Նա պարզապես կարող է փոխել խաղի կանոնները փոխհարաբերություններում և ֆինանսավորման սկզբունքներում:
Թրամփը վերադարձել է առավել մեծ լեգիտիմությամբ: Հիմնավորապես նրան են պարտական հանրապետականները Սենատում և Պալատում մեծամասնություն ունենալու համար: Չմոռանանք, որ ընտրողների ձայների ֆիզիկական ծավալով նա առաջ է անցել Հարիսից շուրջ 4.5մլն ձայների առավելությամբ, ինչը նրան բացառիկ լեգիտիմություն է տալիս գործելու նաև արտաքին քաղաքական ճակատում՝ առանց կաշկանդվելու:
Սա բարդ ժամանակաշրջան է լինելու ամերիկացիների համար: Չնչին է հավանականությունը, որ ամերիկյան հանրությունը կհաշտվի և կհաղթահարի բևեռվածությունը: Բարդ է լինելու նաև արտաքին խաղացողների համար, քանի որ Թրամփը բերելու է նոր մարտահրավերներ թե՛ դաշնակիցներին, թե՛ հակառակորդներին:
Հայաստանի իշխանության մասով ակնկալիքներ բնականաբար չկան: Սակայն հայ համայնքը, լոբիստական և այլ կազմակերպություններն ու Հայ Առաքելական Եկեղեցին անելիք ունեն՝ այդ թվում Արցախում տեղի ունեցած էթնիկ զտումներին իրավական գնահատական տալու և ԱՄՆ կողմից ճանաչելու տեսանկյունից»։
