Ադրբեջանի նախագահն ի թիվս այլ ուշագրավ հայտարարությունների նաև դժգոհությամբ նշեց, որ «2004 թվականից ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահները Հայաստանի դիրքորոշումն են պաշտպանել»: Այս մասին ֆեյսբուքյան էջում գրել է ԱԺ «Պատիվ ունեմ» խմբակցության քարտուղար Տիգրան Աբրահամյանը:
«Վերջինս իր խոսքին լրջություն հաղորդելու համար հիշեցրեց, որ 2004 թվականից մասնակցում է բանակցային գործընթացին:
Այս հայտարարությունն ավելի վաղ` 2016 թվականի աշնանն, արված այն դժգոհության տրամաբանության մեջ էր, երբ Ադրբեջանի կառավարության նիստում Ալիևը սրտնեղում էր, թե` փակ դռների հետևում իրեն ստիպում են ճանաչել Արցախի անկախությունը:
Ավելին, 2021 թվականին, 44-օրյա պատերազմից մոտ 1 տարի անց, երբ Ալիևը Արցախի օկուպացված Քաշաթաղի շրջան էր այցելել, իր շուրջը հավաքված մարդկանց ասում էր, որ եթե իրադարձություններն իրենց սցենարով չշարժվեր, ապա այս շրջանը մնալու էր Հայաստանին:
Փաստացի Ալիևը, միջազգային հիմնական դերակատարներն ուղղակի կամ անուղղակի խոսում էին Արցախի ինքնորոշման իրավունքի իրացման անխուսափելիության մասին և միայն փաշինյանական կացնային քարոզչությունն է, որ մինչև հիմա, Արցախի հանձնումն արդարացնելու համար, հասարակության մի հատվածին դեռ շարունակում է համոզել, թե 1996 թվականի Լիսաբոնյան գագաթնաժողովի հետո Արցախն արդեն հանձնված էր:
