Շաբաթ օրը բրիտանական թերթերի առաջին էջերում գերիշխել են Օվալաձեւ աշխատասենյակում սկանդալային բանակցությունների աննախադեպ տեսարանները, եւ բոլոր պարբերականները սարսափահար են տեղի ունեցածից, գրել է The Guardian-ը։
«Աղետալի» եւ «ստոր» տերմիններն օգտագործվել են՝ նկարագրելու համար այն հանդիպումը, որտեղ Դոնալդ Թրամփը եւ փոխնախագահ Ջեյ Դի Վենսը բացահայտ հայհոյել են Ուկրաինայի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Զելենսկուն։
The Guardian-ը մեջբերել է Դոնալդ Թրամփին. «Դուք խաղում եք Երրորդ համաշխարհային պատերազմի հետ»՝ «աղետալի» որակելով ԱՄՆ եւ Ուկրաինայի նախագահների հանդիպումը:
Առանձին ակնարկում լրագրող Դեւիդ Սմիթը գրել է, որ «Թրամփն ուրբաթ օրը ականատես եղավ ժամանակակից պատմության ամենամեծ դիվանագիտականաղետներից մեկին»:
Daily Mail-ը երկու երկրների ղեկավարների հանդիպումն անվանել է «աշխարհը սարսռեցնող տեսարան» եւ գրել, որ «Օվալաձեւ աշխատասենյակում սկանդալի ժամանակ կատաղած Թրամփը ուղիղ եթերում նվաստացնում է Զելենսկուն»։
Financial Times-ը հոդված է հրապարակել՝ «Զելենսկու բանակցությունները Սպիտակ տանը խափանվել են կատաղության մոլուցքով» վերնագրով, որտեղ ասվում է, որ Թրամփի առաջարկած հանքային գործարքը մնացել է չստորագրված:
The Times-ը երեկոն որակել է որպես «խռովություն Օվալաձեւ աշխատասենյակում», ինչպես նաեւ ուշադրություն է հրավիրել Թրամփի այն մեկնաբանության վրա, որ Զելենսկին «վտանգում է երրորդ համաշխարհային պատերազմ սկսել»:
