Իրանի նախագահ Մասու Փեզեշքիանը Բաքվում կայացած հանդիպմանը հայտարարել է, թե Ղարաբաղն Ադրբեջանի անբաժանելի մասն է։ Ըստ Իրանի նախագահի` Թեհրանն ու Բաքուն մշտապես աջակցել են միմյանց տարածքային ամբողջականությանը։ «Մենք պնդում ենք, որ Ադրբեջանի ժողովրդի իրավունքները պետք է հարգվեն, և Ղարաբաղը պետք է պատկանի Ադրբեջանին», - ասել է Իրանի նախագահը։

Հայաստանի հարավային հարևանի այս հայտարարություններն առաջին հայացքից կարող են լուրջ մտահոգություն և վրդովմունք առաջացնել հայ հանրության միջև, մինչդեռ Իրանը մշտապես եղել է այս դիրքորոշմանը, քանի որ ինքն էլ անջատողական տրամադրություններ ունեցող խմբեր ունի իր երկրում, ուստի և մշտապես, նույնիսկ այն ժամանակ, երբ Արցախը հայկական էր, հայտարարել է տարածքային ամբողջականության կարևոր սկզբունքի առաջնայնության մասին։

Միևնույն ժամանակ, Փեզեշքիանը Բաքվում հայտարարություններ է արել Հայաստանի տարածքային ամբողջականությունը հարգելու մասին։ «Կողմերից յուրաքանչյուրը պետք է գոհանա իր սահմաններով և աչք չունենա մյուսի տարածքի կամ հողի վրա»- ասել է նա ադրբեջանական պետական հեռուստաընկերությանը տված հարցազրույցում։

«Կոնֆլիկտը սկսվում է այն ժամանակ, երբ կողմերից մեկը փորձում է իր վերահսկողության տակ դնել մյուսների տարածքները կամ սահմանները։ Հետևաբար այն, ինչին մենք միշտ օժանդակել ենք և հավատացած ենք, որ պետք է շարժվենք այդ ուղղությամբ, հարգանքն է պետությունների իրավունքների, շահերի և տարածքային ամբողջականության նկատմամբ։ Այս սկզբունքը պետք է հարգվի»,- ասել է Փեզեշքիանը։

Խոսելով, այսպես կոչված, «Զանգեզուրի միջանցքի» մասին` Իրանի նախագահը նշել է, թե իրենք աշխատում են պատրաստել Իրանի ճանապարհը, որպեսզի «Ադրբեջանի սիրելի եղբայրներն ու քույրերը կարողանան Իրանի տարածքով հասնել Նախիջևան, այս ուղղությամբ ահռելի գործ է արվում»։
