Գործարար, բարերար Սամվել Կարապետյանի կալանավորման հետ կապված պատմության, թերևս, ամենահատկանշական արդյունքներից մեկը նաև ամենասարսափելին է վարչապետի պաշտոնը զբաղեցնող Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի համար։ Դա այն էր, որ ուժային կառույցն առաջին անգամ հրաժարվեց կատարել նրա հրահանգը։ Ընդ որում, հրաման չկատարեց Ազգային անվտանության ծառայությունը, որը, ըստ էության, իրավապահ համակարգի հիմնասյուներից է համարվում, ավանգարդն ու արիստոկրատ կառույցը՝ իր, այսպես ասած, դպրոցով, գրեթե 100-ամյա պատմությամբ, խորքային պետության որակներով։

Այնքան ամուր կառույց, որի հախից արդեն յոթ տարի Փաշինյանը փորձում է գալ, բայց այդպես էլ չի կարողանում։ Հիշեցնենք, ժամանակին Փաշինյանը թուլացրեց ԱԱԾ-ն, դրա կազմից հանեց արտաքին հետախուզությունը և դրեց բրիտանական ՄԻ6-ի ադեցության տակ։ ԱԱԾ-ից առանձնացրեց պետական պահպանության ծառայությունը, ամեն ինչ արեց, որ ԱԱԾ-ն վերածի կակղամորթ մի կառույցի։ Բայց այսօր պարզվեց, որ լիարժեք ղեկավարել չի կարողանում։ Աբազյանը, փաստացի, հեռացվել է պաշտոնից, քանի որ հրաժարվել է կատարել նրա անհեթեթ հրամանները։ Ու թեպետ Փաշինյանը նախօրեին խորհրդարանում փորձում էր համոզել, թե Աբազյանին ուղարկել է հանգստանալու, իսկ ԱԱԾ պետը չի կարող չկատարել իր հրամանները, ակնհայտ է, որ ԱԱԾ արդեն նախկին պետի մերժումը ցնցումներ է առաջացրել, Փաշինյանը վախենում է, որ դա կարող է վարակիչ լինել ուժային այլ կառույցների մոտ։ Ընդ որում, վերջին շրջանում սա երկրորդ դեպքն է, երբ ուժային կառույցի ղեկավար է հեռացվում՝ ապօրինի հրաման չկատարելու համար։

Թե՛ ոստիկանությունում, թե՛ ԱԱԾ-ում խանդավառված չեն Հայ առաքելական եկեղեցու դեմ Փաշինյանի պայքարով, փորձում են խուսանավել, բայց ինչ-որ պահի ստիպված են լինելու բացահայտ ցուցադրել ճաքերը։ Փաշինյանը նաև վախեր ունի, որ իրավապահ մարմինները կարող են արտաքին ազդեցություն ունենալ, իսկ այդ դեպքում նրա օրերը, կարելի է ասել, հաշվված են։
