Ինչպես ցանկացած կրոնական կառույցում, Հայ առաքելական եկեղեցում էլ հակասություններ կարող են լինել։ ՀՀ գործող իշխանությունները, թերևս, այդ հակասություններն էին փորձում օգտագործել Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսի դեմ իրենց արգահատելի արշավում, փորձում տարբեր կրոնական առաջնորդների իրար դեմ հանել, ընդհուպ նոր կաթողիկոսի անուններ էին շրջանառում։ Իշխանական մամուլում շրջանառում էին նաև Պոլսո հայոց պատրիարք Սահակ Մաշալյանի անունը, ով, սակայն, շատ ավելի իմաստուն գտնվեց, քան ՀՀ իշխանությունները։
Նախօրեին եպիսկոպոսների միահամուռ ստորագրությամբ ընդունված հայտարարությունը փաստում է՝ եկեղեցում կենտրոնախույս ձգտումներ չկան, թե կուսակրոն, թե ամուսնացյալ հոգևորականները միասնական են և համախմբված հակազդելու են ՀԱԵ-ն կազմաքանդելու ջանքերին։
Պոլսո հայոց պատրիարքն էլ Ստամբուլում հրատարակվող «Ակոս»-ի փոխանցմամբ, հայտարարել է, թե Փաշինյանի հետ Ստամբուլում հանդիպմանը հոգևորականի բացակայությունը լուռ բողոքի ակցիա էր։ «Հայաստանն արարողակարգային սխալ է թույլ տվել, և որ վարչապետ Փաշինյանի՝ Պոլսո Հայոց պատրիարքարան այցելելու խնդրանքը գրավոր չի փոխանցվել։ Պարոն Փաշինյանի՝ Գումգափը կատարած այցի ժամանակ հոգևորականի բացակայությունը գիտակցված դիրքորոշում է։ Պատճառը նրա կողմից Գարեգին Բ կաթողիկոսի նկատմամբ օգտագործված վիրավորական և ագրեսիվ լեզուն է։ Այլ եկեղեցիներ նույնպես նույն կերպ են արձագանքել»,- ասել է պատրիարքը։
