Աբու Դաբիում Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի ու Իլհամ Ալիևի՝ հինգ ժամ տևած բանակցություններից հետո ոչ պաշտոնական Երևանը, ոչ Բաքուն որևէ կոնկրետ համաձայնության մասին չեն հաղորդում: Կողմերը միայն նույնաբովանդակ հայտարարություններ են տարածել, իսկ որևէ փաստաթուղթ այդպես էլ չի ստորագրվել։ Այդուհանդերձ, ադրբեջանական ԶԼՄ-ների տեղեկությունները, թե հանդիպմանը քննարկել են, այսպես կոչված «Զանգեզուրի միջանցքի» հարցը, կարծես չի հերքվում ՀՀ իշխանությունների կողմից։

Փաշինյանական իշխանությունը փորձում է հանդիպումը որպես հաջողված ներկայացնել։ Ըստ ԱԳՆ-ի, «այն կարող է խաղաղության գործընթացի հետագա իրացման լուրջ հիմք հանդիսանալ»: Մինչդեռ թե՛ հանդիպման արձագանքները, թե՛ դրանից հետո Երևանից հնչող կիսաձայն շշուկները վկայում են Փաշինյանի հերթական ձախողման մասին։

Փոխարտգործնախարար Մնացական Սաֆարյանը երեկ հայտարարել է, թե սկզբունքների պահպանման դեպքում Հայաստանը դեմ չէ Սյունիքի ճանապարհի արտապատվիրակմանը։ Դրանից հետո բարձրացած աղմուկին ԱԳՆ-ն փորձեց արձագանքել, թե արտապատվիրակման մեջ որևէ վատ բան չկա։ Բայց փաստն այն է, որ ՀՀ իշխանությունները գրեթե բառացի համաձայնություն են տվել միջանցքի բացմանը։ Թուրք-ադրբեջանական տանդեմը դրան «Զանգեզուրի միջանցք» կասի, Փաշինյանը՝ «Խաղաղության խաչմերուկ», բայց հարցի էությունը չի փոխվում, ՀՀ ինքնիշխանությունը զգալիորեն նվազելու է։

Տարօրինակն այս ամենում ԱՄՆ արձագանքն էր։ ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղարության խոսնակ Թեմի Բրյուսը նախ նշել է, թե Միացյալ Նահանգներն աջակցում է Հարավային Կովկասում խաղաղություն և կայունություն ապահովելուն ուղղված ջանքերին։ Միևնույն ժամանակ, Պետքարտուղարությունը չի մեկնաբանում Ադրբեջանը Հայաստանի տարածքով Նախիջևանի հետ կապող ճանապարհի վերաբերյալ Երևանին ու Բաքվին Վաշինգտոնի առաջարկի մասին հրապարակումները: «Մամուլի հրապարակումների վերաբերյալ տեղեկություն չունենք հաղորդելու», -հայտնել է Պետքարտուղարության խոսնակը:

Անցած շաբաթասկզբին «Քարնեգի» հիմնադրամը, դիվանագիտական աղբյուրներին հղում անելով, գրել էր, որ ԱՄՆ նախագահ Թրամփի վարչակազմը Երևանին և Բաքվին Հայաստանի տարածքով Ադրբեջանը Նախիջևանին կապող ճանապարհի բացման առաջարկ է արել: Խոսքը ճանապարհի կառավարումն օտարերկրյա, մասնավոր ընկերությանը պատվիրակելու մասին է։ Թերևս, հենց այս դետալներում է թաքնված գլխավոր վտանգը, որը փորձում են ոչ այնքան խնամքով թաքցնել ՀՀ քաղաքացիներից։
