Վերջին շրջանում նկատելի է, որ Վաշինգտոնում փաստաթղթերի ստորագրումից հետո Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը փորձում է հնարավորինս շատ երևալ դաշտում, անձամբ շփումներ կազմակերպել իր և «հպարտ» քաղաքացիների միջև, վերադառնալ նախին ֆորմատներին, լայվերի, ասուլիսների, ուղերձների ձևով հանրությանը հասցնել իր թեզերը։ Վերադառնալով պաշտոնական արձակուրդից՝ Փաշինյանը նախ կես ժամանոց ուղերձով դիմեց հանրությանը՝ մի քանի անգամ կրկնելով, թե «խաղաղությունն արդեն եկել է, աննախադեպ մի բան է տեղի ունեցել»։ Ընդ որում, ակնհայտ էր նրա խոսքում հնչող որոշ դառնությունը կամ, այսպես ասած, մունաթը։

Վարչապետի պաշտոնը զբաղեցնող անձի համար խնդիրը, ըստ էության, ճանապարհի հարցն է, որին, որքան էլ անուններ են կպցնում՝ «Խաղաղության խաչմերուկ», «Թրամփի ճանապարհ», չի կարողանում հանրությանը համոզել, որ դա Ադրբեջանի ասած «Զանգեզուրի միջանցքը» չէ։ Խնդիրն այն է, որ նույնիսկ ստորագրված փաստաթղթերով ճանապարհի վերահսկողությունը հայկական կողմը չի իրականացնելու, իսկ ինքնիշխանության ու իրավազորության մասին հեքիաթները պետք է դառնային Փաշինյանի խաղաքարտը խորհրդարանական առաջիկա ընտրություններում։ Փաշինյանին նաև մտահոգում է, որ հանրության մեջ բացարձակ որևէ արձագանք չկա իր քայլերին, քարոզչական էֆեկտ չի տվել Վաշինգտոնում Ալիևի և Թրամփի հետ փաստաթղթերի ստորագրումը:

Նաև, վաշինգտոնյան հանդիպումից հետո էլ Փաշինյանի վարկանիշը շարունակում է չափազանց ցածր մնալ հանրության շրջանում, ըստ իշխանության հարցումների՝ 12-ից 14 տոկոսի միջակայքում։ Փաշինյանը նաև հասկանում է, որ իր թիմում չվարկաբեկված մարդ չունի, ում կարող է բերել առաջին պլան, խոսեցնել, ուստի որոշել է անձամբ իր վրա վերցնել խոսելու պարտականությունը։ Օրերս կայացած ճեպազրույցում էլ Փաշինյանը մի քանի անգամ պնդում էր, որ «ընտրությունը լինելու է խաղաղության և ոչ խաղաղության միջև»՝ փաստացի բացահայտելով իշխանության մարտավարությունը, որ «խաղաղություն» բառի չարաշահումն է լինելու։

Ավանդաբար, գործող իշխանությունները իրենց քարոզչությունը կառուցում էին երկու թեզերի՝ «նախկիններ-ներկաներ» դիսկուրսի և խաղաղության վրա։ Առաջինը վաղուց այլևս որևէ ազդեցություն չի գործում, երկրորդն էլ, ինչպես իր համար պարզել է Փաշինյանը, որևէ էֆեկտ արդեն չի տալիս։ Այժմ էլ, որքան Էրդողանն ու Ալիևը փորձում են ամրապնդել իրենց խամաճիկի դիրքերը, ոչինչ չի փոխվում։ Ու սա հասկանում է նաև Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը։
