Մինչ Հայաստանի գործող իշխանությունները զբաղված են Վաղարշապատի ընտրություններով, Ադրբեջանի նախագահ Իլհամ Ալիևը հայտարարել է, թե «Ադրբեջանում Զանգեզուրի միջանցքի շինարարությունը մոտենում է ավարտին»։ Տաշքենդում Կենտրոնական Ասիայի պետությունների ղեկավարների 7-րդ խորհրդակցական հանդիպմանը Ալիևը հայտարարել է, թե օգոստոսին Վաշինգտոնում ձեռք բերված պայմանավորվածությունները Ադրբեջանը Նախիջևանի հետ կապելու վերաբերյալ կնպաստեն միջազգային փոխադրումների տարանցիկ հնարավորությունների ընդլայնմանը։

Որքան էլ հայկական կողմը պնդում է, թե «Զանգեզուրի միջանցք» չկա, Ադրբեջանը և նրա դաշնակիցները շարունակում են պնդել տվյալ խոսույթը։ Հիմա էլ Հայաստանի իշխանությունները փորձում են տպավորություն ստեղծել, թե Ադրբեջանը «Զանգեզուրի միջանցք» ասելով նկատի ունի միայն իր տարածքով անցնող հաղորդակցությունները, Հայաստանի տարածքով անցնելիք հատվածը Փաշինյանը կոչում է «Թրամփի ուղի» կամ TRIPP անունով։

Էական է այն, որ Ադրբեջանը հերթական անգամ հասնում է իր նպատակին՝ Հայաստանի իշխանություններից կորզելով նոր զիջումներ։ Ի դեպ, ակնհայտ է, Ալիևի հռետորաբանությունը որոշակի մեղմացել է, ինչը վկայում է, որ Ադրբեջանը փորձում է գոնե քաղաքական մակարդակով աջակցություն ցուցաբերել Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի իշխանությանը, իսկ արդեն խորհրդարանական ընտրություններից հետո Ադրբեջանի հռետորաբանությունը ավելի է կոշտանալու, և դա ծանր հետևանքներ է ունենալու։
