Մայիսի 4-ին, Երևանում կայացած Եվրոպական քաղաքական համայնքի գագաթնաժողովի ժամանակ Ադրբեջանի նախագահ Ալիևը մեղադրեց Եվրախորհրդարանին` ապրիլի 30-ին հայանպաստ 14-րդ բանաձևն ընդունելով Ադրբեջանին զրպարտելու, նրա հասցեին ստեր տարածելու մեջ, որակելով այն «սադրանք»` «տարածաշրջանը պատերազմի մեջ ներքաշելու» միտումով։
 
Հիշեցնեմ, որ Եվրախորհրդարանի ընդունած բանաձևում օրինական պահանջներ է ներկայացվում հայ գերիներին ազատ արձակելու, Արցախից տեղահանված հայերին անվտանգ վերադարձի իրավունքի և հայկական մշակութային և կրոնական ժառանգությունը ոչնչացնողներին (Ադրբեջանին) պատասխանատվության ենթարկելու վերաբերյալ։ Այս բանաձևի ընդունման պատճառով Ադրբեջանի խորհրդարանն ընդունեց որոշում` Եվրախորհրդարանի հետ համագործակցության դադարեցման, ինչպես նաև Եվրանեսթի խորհրդարանական վեհաժողովից դուրս գալու մասին։
 
Վերարդառնալով մեր խնդիրներին. Հայաստանի Հանրապետության մայրաքաղաք Երևանում կայացած եվրոպական քաղաքական համայնքի 8-րդ գագաթնաժողովում ՀՀ վարչապետ հանդիսացող Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը բութ ժպիտը դեմքին որևէ արձագանք չտվեց բռնակալ Ալիևին, հակառակը նա հույս է հայտնել, որ շուտով ինքը կլինի Բաքվում. սա հայ ժողովրդի արժանապատվության նսեմացման հերթական դրսևորումն է: Մինչդեռ Եվրախորհրդարանի նախագահ Ռոբերտա Մեցոլան բացառիկ խիզախություն դրսևորեց և խիստ արձագանքեց բռնապետ Ալիևին` հիշեցնելով Եվրախորհրդարանի ժողովրդավարական էության մասին, ասելով` գուցե իրենց դիրքորոշումներն անհարմարություններ ստեղծեն շատերի համար, սակայն իրենք երբեք չեն փոխում իրենց աշխատանքի մեթոդներն ու որոշումները։ Ժողովրդավարությունը հենց այս ձևով է արտահայտվում, երբ անկախ նավթագազային կախվածություններից` կարողանում ես հստակ դիրքորոշումդ պահել, ոչ թե վախից ծվծվալ` բռնապետին դուր գալու համար:
