Հայաստանում կրկին ունենք կին քաղբանտարկյալ` Արեգնազ Մանուկյան։
 
Մենք` հայերս, նախկինում ինքնավստահ կերպով և արդարացիորեն քննադատում էինք Թուրքիայի և Ադրբեջանի իշխանություններին քաղաքական հետապնդումների, ընտրովի արդարադատության և մարդու իրավունքների խախտումների համար։ Ո՜վ իմանար, որ Հայաստանում կլինի նույն իրավիճակը:
 
Հայաստանը Քաղաքացիական և քաղաքական իրավունքների մասին միջազգային դաշնագրի, Մարդու իրավունքների եվրոպական կոնվենցիայի և Կանանց նկատմամբ խտրականության բոլոր ձևերի վերացման մասին ՄԱԿ-ի կոնվենցիայի մասնակից պետություն է։ Այս միջազգային պայմանագրերով երաշխավորում է յուրաքանչյուր անձի ազատությունը և անձնական անձեռնմխելիությունը, արդար դատաքննության, կարծիքի ազատ արտահայտման, խաղաղ հավաքների և միավորումների ազատության, ինչպես նաև օրենքի առջև հավասար պաշտպանության իրավունքը՝ առանց խտրականության։
 
Դրանք նաև պարտավորեցնում են պետությանը բացառել կամայական ազատազրկումը, քրեական հետապնդման չարաշահումը և խտրականության ցանկացած ձև, այդ թվում՝ քաղաքական համոզմունքների կամ հասարակական և քաղաքական կյանքին մասնակցության հիմքով։ Ինչին ամենօրյա ռեժիմով մենք ականատես ենք լինում Հայաստանում:
 
Կանանց նկատմամբ խտրականության վերացման հարցերով ՄԱԿ-ի կոմիտեն բազմիցս ընդգծել է, որ պետությունները պարտավոր են պաշտպանել կանանց քաղաքական դրդապատճառներով պայմանավորված ճնշումից, ապահովել նրանց հավասար հասանելիությունը արդարադատությանը և բացառել ցանկացած խտրականություն քրեական օրենքի կիրառման ժամանակ։
 
«Դեպի Եվրոպա ձգտող» Նիկոլ կեղծարարի օրոք ,սակայն, քրեական հետապնդումները օգտագործվում են որպես քաղաքական հակառակորդների վրա ճնշման գործիք, իսկ խափանման միջոցը վերածվել է պատժի ձևի՝ դեռևս դատավճռի կայացումից առաջ, ազատությունը սահմանափակվում է ոչ թե արդարադատության անհրաժեշտությամբ, այլ քաղաքական նպատակահարմարությամբ, ավելի կոնկրետ մեկ անձի քմահաճույքով:
 
Սա արդեն ոչ թե ներքին քաղաքականության, այլ Մարդու իրավունքների եվրոպական կոնվենցիայով ամրագրված մարդու հիմնարար իրավունքների պաշտպանությունյան հարց է։ Հայաստանի` միջազգայնորեն ստանձնած պարտավորությունների չիրականացման հարց է:
