Իսրայելի վարչապետ Բենիամին Նեթանյահուն հայտարարել է, որ հրամայել է զինվորականներին շրջափակել Հեբրոն քաղաքը և պատրաստվել մեկուսացնելու ամբողջ Հորդանան գետի Արևմտյան ափը ուրբաթ առավոտյան տեղի ունեցած ահաբեկչությունից հետո, որն ուղեկցվել է հրաձգությամբ։

«Ես հրամայել եմ անվտանգության ուժերին և բանակին անհապաղ շրջափակել Հեբրոն քաղաքը և պատրաստվել Հուդայի և Սամարիայի ամբողջ տարածքի լիակատար մեկուսացմանը՝ սկսած այսօրվանից։ Մեր ուժերը գործում են ուժեղացված ռեժիմով՝ ահաբեկչական գործողությունները կանխելու համար և իրականացնում են լայնածավալ ձերբակալություններ»,- ասված է Նեթանյահուի հայտարարության մեջ։

Ուրբաթ ավելի վաղ Իսրայելի պաշտպանության բանակը (ՑԱԽԱԼ) հայտնել էր երկու անհայտ անձանց մասին, որոնք Հեբրոնի շրջանում կրակ էին բացել և ոչնչացվել էին իսրայելցի զինվորականների կողմից։ Հարձակման հետևանքով, որն իշխանությունները որակվել են ահաբեկչություն, հինգ մարդ վիրավորվել է։

Իսրայելի ուժային կառույցների կարծիքով, որը մեջբերում է Kan պետական հեռառադիոընկերությունը, անհայտ անձինք, որոնք իսրայելական համարանիշներ ունեցող ավտոմեքենայով հասել էին ՑԱԽԱԼ-ի անցակետ, ծրագրել էին խոշոր ահաբեկչություն իրականացնել խաղաղ բնակիչների դեմ, քանի որ ավտոմեքենայում հայտնաբերվել էր մեծ քանակությամբ զինամթերք։
