Վտանգվել է Շնող գետի էկոհամակարգը

«Համահայկական բնապահպանական ճակատ» քաղաքացիական նախաձեռնությունը հայտարարություն է տարածել, որտեղ բարձրաձայնել է Թեղուտի հանքավայրի շահագործումից Շնող գետի ջրի որակի վատթարացման փաստը:
Նախաձեռնության անդամները նշել են, որ անտառային էկոհամակարգի ոչնչացումից բացի առաջացել են նաև այլ լուրջ բացասական հետևանքներ, որոնցից մեկն էլ հանքավայրին հարակից տարածքներում հոսող գետերի ջրերի որակի խիստ վատթարացումն է։ Դրա վառ ապացույցները ներկայացված են ՀՀ ԳԱԱ Քիմիական ֆիզիկայի ինստիտուտի գիտաշխատող Սեյրան Մինասյանի«Շնող գետի ջրերի որակի դինամիկան 2009-2015թթ. ընթացքում» հետազոտության մեջ։
Մասնավորապես, հետազոտության մեջ նշված է, որ 2009-2015թթ. Շնող գետի ջրերի հիդրոքիմիական եւ հիդրոկենսաբանական որակի ցուցանիշների մեծությունների փոփոխությունները ցույց են տալիս, որ Թեղուտի հանքավայրի շահագործման նախապատրաստական աշխատանքներն ու շահագործումը էական բացասական ներգործություն ունեն Շնող գետի ջրային էկոհամակարգի վրա: Հանքարդյունաբերական գործունեության ընդլայնմանը զուգահեռ՝ վատացել է գետի ջրերի որակը, գետաբերանի հատվածում գետի ջրերի ֆիզիկաքիմիական հատկությունները սկսել են վատանալ, նվազել են ջրի թափանցելիությունը եւ ջրածնային ցուցիչի արժեքները, աճել են էլեկտրահաղորդականությունը, ինչպես նաեւ գետաբերանում տեղի է ունեցել ջրային կենսաբազմազանության կտրուկ անկում:
Ըստ Սեյրան Մինասյանի՝ Շնող գետի ակունքի եւ գետաբերանի ջրերի որակի ցուցանիշների համեմատությունը եւ որակի անկումը պայմանավորող ցուցանիշների համախումբը ցույց են տալիս, որ գետի ջրային էկոհամակարգի որակի անկման պատճառը Թեղուտի հանքավայրի շահագործման նախապատրաստումն ու բուն շահագործումն է: Շնող գետը, ըստ Եվրամիության Ջրի շրջանակային դիրեկտիվի (ՋՇԴ), ներկայում արդեն դասվում է ռիսկային ջրային մարմինների դասին:
Հաշվի առնելով այս ամենը՝ «Համահայկական բնապահպանական ճակատ» քաղաքացիական նախաձեռնությունը եկել է այն եզրակացության, որ բնապահպանական նպատակային միջոցառումներ չիրականացնելու դեպքում Շնող գետի էկոհամակարգը մոտակա տարիներին կնմանվի Ախթալա և Կարճևան գետերի ջրային էկոհամակարգերին:
