Մոտ 30 տարի առաջ տեղի ունեցած Չեռնոբիլի աղետը հազարավոր մարդկանց ստիպել է լքել իրենց տները, որից հետո Չեռնոբիլն ու Պրիպյատն այժմ դարձել են լքված հիվանդանոցներով, գործարաններով և ամայի տներով քաղաքներ, գրում է Daily Mail-ը։

Պրիպյատ քաղաքը գտնվում է Չեռնոբիլի ատոմակայանից ընդամենը երեք կիլոմետր հեռավորության վրա։

Ավստրիացի լուսանկարիչ Ռոլանդ Վերանտը համարձակություն է ունեցել այցելելու ուրվական քաղաք և լուսանկարել քաղաքի ներկայիս վիճակը։

35-ամյա լուսանկարիչը պատմում է, որ սարսուռ է զգացել՝ տեսնելով քաղաքի բնակիչների չհավաքած անկողինները, ճաշի ափսեները և լողավազանները, որոնք բոլորը պատվել են տասնամյակների փոշով։ 

Հիշեցում. 1986թ.-ի ապրիլի 26-ին` գիշերը 1.23 րոպեին, Խորհրդային միության խոշորագույն ատոմակայանի 4-րդ էներգաբլոկում պայթյուն տեղի ունեցավ, որն ամբողջովին ոչնչացրեց ռեակտորը: Պայթյունի հետևանքով մթնոլորտ արտանետվեց 190 տոննա ռադիոակտիվ նյութ: Ռեակտորի 140 տոննա ռադիոակտիվ վառելիքից 8 տոննան հայտնվեց օդում: Փորձագետները նշում են, որ ռադիոակտիվ նյութերի ընդհանուր արտանետումները կազմել են 50 մլն կյուրի, որը հավասարազոր է 1945թ.-ին Հիրոսիմայի վրա նետված միջուկային ռումբի հետևանքների հինգհարյուրապատիկին:

Ռադիոակտիվ նուկլիդներն աղտոտեցին Ուկրաինայի, Բելառուսի ու Ռուսաստանի ավելի քան 145 հազ ք/կմ տարածք: Սակայն բնակչությանը վարակման վտանգի մասին հաղորդվեց շատ ուշ: Հեռուստատեսությամբ առաջին պաշտոնական հայտարարությունն արվեց միայն ապրիլի 28-ին: Աղետից հետո, ավելի քան 115 հազ. մարդ տարհանվեց 30 կմ-ոց գոտուց: Բացի այդ, աղետի հետևանքները վերացնելու գործում ներգրավվեց ավելի քան 600 հազ. մարդ: Վթարից զոհվեց 31 մարդ, դրան հետևող 15 տարիների ընթացքում ռադիոկատիվ ճառագայթման զոհ դարձավ 60-80 հազ. մարդ: 134 հազ. մարդ ծանր ճառագայթային հիվանդությամբ հիվանդացավ:

Չեռնոբիլի ԱԷԿ-ն ամբողջովին փակվեց 2000թ. դեկտեմբերի 15-ին։
