2002թ.-ին Ստեփանակերտ էին ժամանել ԱՊՀ երկրներից մի խումբ երիտասարդներ, ինչ որ ֆորում էր՝ չճանաչված պետությունների թեմայով....մասնակիցներից մի քանիսին հրավիրել էինք ռադիո՝ ուղիղ եթերում հարցազրույցի: Երբ հարցազրույցն ավարտվեց, հյուրերը ասացին, որ հաջորդիվ պիտի հյուրընկալվեն ՛՛Կարմիր խաչի՛՛ Ստեփանակերտի գրասենյակում և խնդրեցին ուղեկցել իրենց. անպայման ուզում էին ոտքով քայլել, քաղաքը ուսումնասիրել: Դե ստեփանակերտցիների համար արդեն պարզ է մեր երթուղին՝ ռադիոյի շենքից դուրս եկանք, Պիտաչոկով իջանք դեպի շուկա, ժենգյալով հաց հյուրասիրեցինք ու իջանք դեպի ՛՛Կարմիր խաչ՛՛: Ճանապարհին անցնում էինք ՛՛ Սոսե՛՛ մանկապարտեզի կողքով: Բացատրեցի, որ ՀՕՄ-ն է հովանավորում, որ տնօրենը Արցախի հերոս Աշոտ Բեկորի կինն է ու նաև ասացի, որ պարտեզի սաները հիմնականում զոհված զինծառայողների ընտանիքների երեխաներն են: Մեկ էլ, մաթեմատիկական մի փոքր հաշվարկից հետո երիտասարդներից մեկը ասաց. ՛՛Как это в садик... они же как минимум должны ходить в 1-ый класс? Война вооон оно, в 94-ом закончилась...՛՛...: Ես իհարկե բացատրեցի, որ զինադադարը դեռ պատերազմի ավարտ չէ, որ ընդամենը մի քանի օր առաջ էր առաջնագծում զոհվել ծանոթներիցս մեկի որդին, իսկ նրանք ապշած լսում էին... նրանք էլ այն շատերից էին, ովքեր ՛՛հրադադար՛՛ բառը շփոթում էին ՛՛խաղաղություն՛՛ բառի հետ... Ու հիմա, երբ լսում եմ խոսակցություններ, թե իբր պատերազմը վերսկսվում է՝ զարմանում եմ........ Միթե՞ պատերազմը երբևէ ավարտված է եղել, և կամ այդ որ պատերազմն է աշխարհում հրադադարի, այլ ոչ թե հաշտության կամ կապիտուլյացիայի պայմանագրով ավարտվել... Պատերազմը միշտ էլ եղել է այս անցած 22 տարիների ընթացքում, մենք նրա հետ ենք ապրել այնպես, ինչպես ապրում են արդեն վարժեցրած գիշատչի հետ՝ երբեք չմոռանալով նրա հարձակվելու բնազդը...Պատերազմը չէր ավարտվել, որովհետև շփման գծի դեմ-դիմաց խրամատների դիտակետերում զինվորները երբեք չեն դադարել միմյանց թշնամի համարել, երբեք չեն դադարել կրակել միմյանց վրա, երբեք....Պատերազմը միշտ կար և այն ապրիլին ոչ թե սկսվեց, այլ շարունակվեց... պարզապես ակտիվ ռազմական գործողություններն են վերսկսվել, բայց այս անգամ մի նշանակալի տարբերությամբ՝ հիմա մեր զինվորները ոչ թե ազատագրողի դերում են, այլ իրենց հայրերի ու պապերի արյունով ազատագրված հողերը պահողի, իսկ սա մի քանի հարյուր անգամ ավելի պարտավորեցնող է...
