Արման Ալավերդյանը ֆեյսբուքյան իր էջում գրում է.

Հայ պետականության կայացման ճանապարհն ունի յուրահատուկ ու բազմաբովանդակ, կարելի է ասել բազմաթիվ վայրիվերումներով լեցուն հետագիծ: Քիչ չեն եղել պետականության ինստիտուցիոնալիզացման և պլյուրալիզմի շուրջ կապված տարաբնույթ ու բազմաբովանդակ մոտոցումներն ու հայացքները։

Ինչ խոսք միանշանակ չի կարելի ասել, թե հայ ժողովուրդի անկախության ձեռք բերումը լոկ հայ ազգի դարավոր իղձերի ու պայքարի, նպատակների կամարտահայտության ծնունդ էր, չնայած դա երբեք չպետք է անտեսվի ու մոռացվի, ըստ իս, այստեղ առկա են ավելի լուրջ աշխարհաքաղաքական և գեոստրատեգիական նուրբ մանևրներ, որոնց անհրաժեշտ է անդրադառնալ։

Խոսքն արտաքին ազդակների, պատվիրատուների և տարածաշրջանում կոնկրետ շահերի բախում ունեցող պետություների և գերտերությունների, ինչու չէ նաև մեր անմիջական հարևանի վաղեմի երազանքի մասին է։

Եթե խնդրին նայենք լրիվ այլ ձևաչափով՝ պատկերը դառնում է համընդհանուր, պարզ, և երևում են դաշտում խաղացող ֆիգուրներն` իրենց իրական կերպարներով և խորը գնացող ցանկություններով։

Դաշտում գործող անձիք առաջին հայացքից թվում են կամ «բաեկամ ու դաշնակից», կամ հայ ժողովրդի «դարդ ու ցավով» ապրող բարի դեմքով «Քեռի Սեմ»։ Ստեղծվում է մի իրադրություն, որ թվում է, թե ինչ կա որ հզորներն ամեն կերպ փորձում են հոգալ թույլի, քրիստոնյաի, բարեկամի խնդիրները: Անկախության գաղափարը օգտագործվեց շատ ճկուն անցում կատարվեց իրականից դեպի թվացյալը, ինչն իրականում ցանկանում էին մատուցել։

ԽՍՀՄ տարբեր հատվածներում՝ հատկապես առավել կոնֆլիկտոգեն ու պայթունավտանգ դառնալու հավանականություն ունեցող Անդրկովկասում, արհեստականորեն սկսվեցին առաջ քաշվել ազգերի ինքնուրույնություն, պատմական անցիալի երբեմնի փառքի մասին տեսություններ ու լեգենդներ, կրոնական արժհակմակարգերի, տնտեսության ազգայնականացման, էթնիկ պատկանելիության դրսևորման նոր ալիքների տեսքով վառվեցին խմորումների օջախներ։

Այս ամենն արվում էր տարածաշրջանը լարված պահելու, հեշտ կառավարելու, ժողովրդին ձեռնասուն դարձնելու համար, որովհետև Կենտկոմին հարկավոր չէին ուժեղ, ազգայնական ծայրամասեր։ Նման քաղաքականությանը բնականաբար պետք է հաջորդեր ադեկվատ շաունակությունը, որոնք ցայտուն դրսևորվեցին Սումգաիթում, Բաքվում, Կիրովաբադում, Մարաղայում տեղի ունեցած հայտնի սարսափելի դեպքերով։

Մի ողջ ժողովուրդ դարձավ փախստական։ Սովետական պետությունը հասկանում էր, որ արդեն հեռավոր անցյալ են նետվել իր երբեմնի փառքն ու հեղինակությունը, և Գորբաչովի «перестройка» ասավածը պարզ դարձավ, թե ի՞նչ էր ուզում վերակառուցել հզոր սովետների վերջին մոհիկանը։

Ազգային բախումները շարունակվեցի Վրաստանում, Մերձդնեստրում, ապա ավելի ուշ` Չեչնիայում։

Թուրքիան նույպես շահագրգիռ էր ՀՀ անկախացմանը, քանի որ վերջապես Հայաստանը չէր լինելու ԽՍՀՄ լոկոմոտիվի մի ատրիբուտ, այլ սուվերեն, իսկ դա նշանակում էր՝ ամեն միջոցով օգնել Ադրբեջանին` Ղարաբաղը համար, ինչպես նաև իրականացնել, դեռևս նախորդ դարասկզբին կիսատ մնացած պռոեկտի՝ պանթուրքիզմի իրականցման համար, քանի որ ծավալապաշտական այդ ծրագրում Հայաստանի ուծացումն առաջնային հարց էր։
