McDonald's-ը ստեղծվել է 1940թ.-ին որպես խորովածի կամ, ամերիկացիների լեզվով ասած, բարբիքյուի ռեստորան: Այն պատկանել է Ռիչարդ և Մաուրիս ՄքԴոլանդներին: Աստիճանաբար այդ բիզնեսը սկսեց ճանաչելի ու հասանելի դառնալ՝ իր արագ, մատչելի ու միաժամանակ նաև ոչ առողջարար արտադրանքի շնորհիվ, իսկ այժմ այն ճանաչում են երկրագնդի ցանկացած կետում, անգամ Հայաստանում, որտեղ այն, ցավոք կամ բարեբախտաբար, ներկայացված չէ:
McDonald's-ի կենտրոնը գտնվում է ԱՄՆ-ում: Այն ներկայացված է 119 երկրի 35,000 կետերում: McDonald's-ը տարածվում է ԱՄՆ-ից մինչև Չինաստան, Մեծ Բրիտանիայից Ավստրալիա, Ռուսաստանց Հարավային Աֆրիկա ու սահուն կերպով շրջանցում է Հայաստանը: McDonald's-ն ունի մոտ 1.900.000 աշխատող, որոնք օրական սպասարկում են ավելի քան 68.000.000 հաճախորդի: Պատկերացնո՞ւմ եք: Այսինքն՝ ստացվում է, որ եթե երկրագնդի բնակչությունը 7,125 մլրդ է, ապա օրական McDonald's-ը սպասարկում է երկրագնդի բնակչության մոտ 1%-ին: Շշմել կարելի է:

  • 68.000.000 հաճախորդների թվով McDonald's -ի օրական բնակչության թիվն ավելի մեծ է, քան օրինակ Մեծ Բրիտանիայի:
