Բարակ վարսերի խնամքը սկսվում է  ճիշտ լվանալուց եւ հարդարանքից։ Բարակ մազերը փշրվող են։ Լվանալիս անհրաժեշտ է շամպունը քսել գլխի արմատին, հետո նուրբ շարժումներով տարածել վարսերի երկայնքով։ Շամպունից հետո օգտագործեք բալզամ։ Հաճախ շատերը հեգնում են բալզամը, քանի որ կարծում են, որ այն վնասում է վարսերին եւ ծանրաբեռնում այն, սակայն դա սուտ է. գոյություն ունեն հատուկ բալզամներ, որոնք նախատեսված են բարակ վարսերի համար։
Բարակ վարսերը խնամելու կարեւոր փուլերից է համարվում դրանց սանրումը։ Հիշեք, որ թաց վարսերը նախ պետք է չորացնել սրբիչով։ Խորհուրդ է տրվում վարսերը սանրել նախ ծայրերից, դա թույլ կտա պահպանել վարսերի որակն ու չվնասել արմատները։ Բացի այդ, այդ կերպ ավելի հեշտ է խճճված վարսերը սանրելը։
Վարսերը հարդարելիս հատուկ ուշադրություն դարձրեք խնամքի միջոցներին, որոնք տվյալ դեպքում պետք է նախատեսված լինեն հենց բարակ վարսերի համար։

Ուշադրություն դարձրեք, որպեսզի վարսերի խնամքի միջոցները պարունակեն ամինաթթուներ, ետաին, Բ խմբի վիտամիններ, կերատին, կոէնզիմ Q10, շաքարի, նիացինաիդի, կոֆեինի եւ պանտենեոլի բաղադրիչներ։
Բոլոր այս բաղադրիչները դրական են ազդում բարակ վարսերի որակի վրա եւ ամրացնում են մազարմատները։ Չորացնող շամպունները լավ տարբերակ են, քանի որ կարող են վարսերին փարթամություն հաղորդել, սակայն զգույշ եղեք. վարսերն ավելորդ անգամ չորացնելով, կարող եք վնասել եւ թուլացնել մազարմատները։
