Ֆրանսիացի երեսուն քաղաքական գործիչ, այդ թվում՝ Լորան Վոկյեն և Անն Իդալգոն, կոչ են արել ֆրանսիական կառավարությանը բոյկոտել նոյեմբերի 11-ին Բաքվում անցկացվող COP29 համաժողովը։
Նրանք դատապարտել են Ֆրանսիայի մասնակցությունն այս միջոցառմանը` այն համարելով որպես աջակցություն Ադրբեջանի կոռումպացված ռեժիմին, ինչպես նաև Հայաստանի դեմ ուղղված սպառնալիքների անտեսում։
Բացի այդ, իրավապաշտպան կազմակերպությունները, ինչպիսիք են Human Rights Watch-ը և Freedom Now-ն, հաղորդել են Ադրբեջանում քաղաքացիական հասարակության նկատմամբ ճնշումների, ինչպես նաև քաղբանտարկյալների, այդ թվում՝ մարդասեր և բարերար Ռուբեն Վարդանյանի և 22 հայ պատանդների նկատմամբ ոտնձգությունների մասին:
Քաղաքական գործիչները նշում են, որ անհնար է խոսել շրջակա միջավայրի պաշտպանության մասին՝ անտեսելով հյուրընկալող երկրում տեղի ունեցող քաղաքական ճնշումներն ու բռնությունները։ Նրանք կոչ են անում Ֆրանսիայի կառավարությանը բոյկոտել COP29-ը և ղեկավարել հայ պատանդների ազատ արձակման, Լեռնային Ղարաբաղից 120,000 փախստականների վերադարձի և Հայաստանի տարածքային ամբողջականության վերականգնման միջազգային արշավը։
